Here We Go Again With Immigrants

Ol' MJ Hakweye is not a big fan of our Ohio RINO governor, Mike DeWine, for a variety of reasons. First, he was sissy boy when it came to Covid mandates. One of his best was to close bars at promptly 10 pm as if the virus was taking a daytime nap then at 10 got out of bed to wreak havoc on the Buckeye State's beer drinkers.

Please don't consider me heartless but his next move is to open up Ohio to Ukraine immigrants. Why do we have to be the welcome mat for the world? I would imagine the Ukraine has neighbors who have the same language, the same customs, maybe even cousins, aunts and uncles to welcome them.

One of my bugaboos is how the U.S. welcomed Somali immigrants in drove. After Minneapolis and St. Cloud Minnesota Columbus has taken in the most of these folks. Unless If I'm not mistaken Somali has a warmer climate than that of Minnesota and Ohio. I'm perplexed as to why these folks don't settle in the Mohave Desert but this is just me. I remember when there were Somali's who came in droves and settled in the suburb of Hilliard adjacent to Dubin. One of their first orders of business was to establish a prayer room in the schools so that the Muslim kids could do their thing during the day.

Incremental takeovers of our customs seem to be the plan. Had I been in Hilliard schools and pulled out my rosary I'd have been sent to the rubber room.

I repeat what my grandfather told me about what his dad told him when they moved to the U.S. from Germany in the late 1800's: "When you're in our home you can speak German. When you go outside speak English because were all American's now."

My oh my, how times have changed.
