Iowa: All Things Good And Proper

There's a story in the news coming out of Iowa that is common sense----unless you're the news media.

Take a look at this photo:

Gavy Smith lives in Decorah in the northeastern part of the state. It's a quaint little community and the home of Luther college.  Gavy appears to be a normal, albit chunky, 9th grader who loves playing volleyball and golf. There's a problem for Gavy's mother and she's made the news with her comments. Yesterday, Gov. Kim Reynolds(who gave the rubuttle to Joe's snoozefest address) signed into law a bill stating that in high schools etc. boys can only play sports activities with boys and girls can only play on girls teams.

The media somehow found one person, a mother, who thinks this is unfair since Gavy thinks he is a she and will not be able to pattern his/her life after the nincompoop swimmer at the Univ. of Pennsylvania. This poor kid picture put a huge bullseye on his/her back with the media notoriety. The mother(hey, where's dad in all this?), whether she knows it or not is raising a child who is a candidate for gun swallowing later in life---but that's just my amateur analysis talking. I mean, what do I know? I'm only the father of 3 and a person who taught hundreds and hundreds of high school kids in my twenty years of teaching.

About the above photo. These are the parents and students who were ecstatic at knowing they cannot be threatened athletically by somebody with a penis in their pants. https://www.kcci.com/article/des-moines-iowa-high-school-athletes-react-to-controversial-transgender-sports-law/39317464#

By the bye, Just because I have Iowa blood coursing through my veins doesn't mean I'm completely naive. It's only a matter of time before some lunkhead lawyer files a lawsuit.
