Times Have Changed

It's state tourney time for Ohio high school boys. A long time friend of mine has a son who plays for a small school north of Dublin and they were in the district finals. The kid is pretty good so as a favor to dad I went to the game but almost didn't make it in the gym.

Tickets aren't sold at the window anymore. In order to see a game I had to show my computer with some stupid pass on it and then it goes to an account that charges my Visa. At age 76 I found this to be a near impossibility. I asked two youngsters if they'd show me how to work the cell phone to buy an online ticket. I might as well of tried to put together a nuclear weapon. Finally, out of frustration I approached a woman at the door who was checking what was supposed to be a ticket. It's hell being old. She called the AD and told him my plight. Lo and behold the guy gave permission for me to enter and the price was free. My suggestion for old people in this new age is to feign technical stupidity except there's no feigning about it.
