It Could Be Worse

While Charlie and I were on our morning walk and I was listening to the Glenn Beck Show on the radio it hit me: we could have it a lot worse. Consider the Ukraine. Folks, they're dead in the water regardless of what the media tells you. Think for a moment how difficult life would be for us if Canada and Mexico declared war on the United States.

Fuel in Columbus Ohio is now at $4.86. Hold onto your breeches. It'll be $5 in a week but that was the plan all along, wasn't it? First, we shut down the Keystone Pipeline. Then we pay Russia to ship fuel to Europe by paying them. I don't know about you but I don't have the cash to buy an electric car and even if I did I wouldn't. I can see it now. Fuel is at $10 a gallon and and people don't have the cash to get outta town for vacation. What to do? Well, if I wanted to see different sites, Yellowstone National Park for instance,  I'd grab the family along with a minimum of food and head out for the train yards and do what hobos did in the late 40's and early 50's.

The Memorial Golf Tournament is over and we can now get back to normal. Yesterday, near the course, I saw capitalism in action and loved it. Six small children, around age 9, were selling lemonade near the front entrance. I was shocked Jack Nicklaus hadn't sent out his Storm Troopers to halt their business. I felt the need to stop and buy a slug of their wares and distribute to the law enforcement officers. Good for those kids. They'll go far in life.

And that's about it except for one more thing, "FJB."
