Democracy And Our Nation Are Dead

 I've been communicating with a blogger friend who lives in Georgia and he writes telling me how things will change after the November elections. I don't want to be a pessimist because I've always been in competitor whether it be in my athletic career or in my jobs. I love competing. It separates those who can't from those who can.

In one my coaching positions I was the head coach at a large school in Davenport Iowa; 1974-77 to be exact. The community at that time was around 110,000 people and was situated in what is called The Quad-Cities. In 1975-76 our basketball team suffered greatly. It did not win a game in that year. Zero and nineteen isn't fun. Regardless, my boys came to practice every day and even in 2022 I still receive many positive messages from my boys. 

If you haven't been around big time high school sports you should know there are those who take it seriously, so serious about it they'll do and say anything to get the head coach fired. And I haven't even brought up booster clubs. Those guys can be brutal. Anyway, during that period we had three small children under the age of 7. Not once did I fear taking them out in public. We went to church, to amusement parks and playgrounds. We even went to restaurants and not once did I fear for our lives.

This isn't the case in our society today. Did you know a loon went to Washington D.C. to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh? On a daily basis there are goofballs surrounding his private home screaming threats at he, his wife and his small children. Oh, it's against federal law to do this but our Attorney General, Merrick Garland has not offered any protection.

Last night Kavanaugh and his wife wanted to go out to dinner and visited a Morton's Steak House. They never got to eat. Protesters of all varieties threatened he and his spouse and they had to escape through a back door. Does this make sense? Is this right? Are the communists really in control? Pres. Joe Biden has spoken about the Supreme Court and its recent abortion ruling. He's called it despicable and tells us the Supreme Court is out of control and that something needs to be done about them. Is it possible this 'something' might be assassination, fire bombing their homes? Will Joe Biden be responsible for any harm that comes to any legislator of judge? Should he be? I remember when Roe v. Wade was made legal by that Supreme Court. I do not recall people against it who promised physical harm to those justices. As a matter of fact, I cannot recall one instance of anyone on the right going bonkers because the court approved legislation that went against their wishes. 

I don't like what's going on in this land. Will November elections change attitudes? Will people calm down? Remember what I wrote about not being a pessimist? Well, I'm not one but I am a realist and the animals are out of their cages and will continue this communistic takeover of our country. 

Folks, this country is dead! Prove me wrong.
