Okay, I'm the first to admit it's silly for me to even offer one opinion on the French elections. I don't bone up on their history and I don't wish to. I read about Joan of Arc once but only because the nuns made me. Personally, I detest the Frogs; always have. They're arrogant little twits. The Queen and I have visited the land of croussants and wine more than once. My youngest son studied the language(I'll never forgive him for this)in college at John Carroll Uiversity then proceeded in his quest to become the next Charles DeGaulle by matriculating in the language in the land of "Don't shoot, don't shoot, I surrender" his junior year on their soil.
We'd travel the countryside and he'd relay to me what the youth, especially, had to say about my attire. I was wearing black and white saddle shoes one day. Two teens were laughing at my choice of footwear knowing full well I was a Yank. What a bunch of punks.
So, who are these Marie Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron characters? Well, as the famous Oklahoman, Will Rogers said, "All I know is what I read in the newspapers". In other words, I don't know much.
The papers call Le Pen 'Far Right'. It's so blatant that I've come to believe her Christian name is Far Right Marie Le Pen. But this is not so. In the age of politics and depending on one's country what is Far Right in the USA is much different than, say, what is going on in France.
I took a blurb from the Far Left wikipedia regarding Le Pen?
'She has also relaxed some political positions of the party, advocating for civil unions for same-sex couples instead of her party's previous opposition to legal recognition of same-sex partnerships, accepting unconditional abortion and withdrawing the death penalty from her platform'.
Think about it. In this country she's on a par with our entire Democrat Party.
Now, for this Macron character. His actual name is Emmanuel Macron but he goes by Macron much the same way you never read about Madonna Ciccone.
This is what I know about Macron. He is a political neophyte; very little experience. He has never been elected to anything. His biggest boosters are French and Hollywood celebrities. He's a community organizer. Sound familiar?
Immediately after the primaries he received a phone call from none other than Barack Hussein Obama on how to win the election. Remember him? He's the guy who chastised the Russians for supposedly intervening into our presidential election.
The biggest topics in this election revolves around Brexit and immigration. If you don't know about the subject it means France might leave the European if Le Pen is victorious, much as Gt. Britain did after last year's elections. Le Pen wants immigration to cease. You know, Muslims especially.
In my view the EU, from the Democrat Party is about sharing and caring. In other words, socialism. Why do you think it's so important for Obama? As for immigration: Why in the world would anyone in their right minds not want to be blown up or have their throats slashed? If you do want these then vote Macron.
