Since it's Good Friday( the word 'Good' seems silly to me since there wasn't much good about it) I made a visit to St. Brigid Catholic Church today. It's the least I could do for one who had thorns put on His head, nails hammered in His hands and feet and felt the thrust of a spear plunged into His side for three hours before he died for our sins.

While sitting in the pew I began reflecting on our Pope's statement of two days ago: there is a heaven but not hell. He stated(but is walking back some of this heresy)the good go to heaven but the bad after taking  their last breath go poof. Francis thinks there's a nothingness as if they never existed.

Let's say the pope is correct. The big question would be why in God's name did Jesus go through all the suffering and death? It would have been a monstrous waste of time and effort on His part.

The way I figure Hitler, Chairman Mao and Mussolini might have lucked out.

Coffee Or No Coffee

There was an article in the UK Daily Mail two days ago touting the health benefits of three or more cups of coffee on a daily basis. According to doctors who study caffeine the magical juice cleans out the arteries allowing humans to live longer.

Then this from the State of California yesterday:

"Bad news, coffee drinkers: A California judge has ruled that coffee companies across the state will have to carry a cancer warning label because of a carcinogen that is present in the brewed beverage. Superior Court Judge Elihu Berle sided with a nonprofit´s case against dozens of coffee companies, including Starbucks, Peets and other chains, saying that businesses that sold coffee were in violation of a state regulation requiring businesses with at least 10 employees to disclose the prevalence of carcinogens and toxic chemicals."

Read closely. The judge received his info from a 'non-profit'. Those are the people who only exist because of government grants. Once the money goes away then their jobs go the same route.
The non-profit claimed coffee carries toxic chemicals and carcinogens. Sounds more like nicotine to me.

For the people of the dumbest state in America they can count on their taxes rising faster than the Mississippi River in sprig time.

“Since he was in middle school, it was no surprise to anyone who knew him, that he was the shooter. Those talking about how we should have not ostracized him? You didn’t know this kid! OK? We did!”

Which is to say, González just made a startling admission. Parkland students bullied Nikolas Cruz.

It may well be that González is right — the rest of us didn’t know him.

But there are a large number of people — some of whom are celebrities and either marched in and/or supported the March — who have spent years insisting that what González and her friends who “ostracized” Nikolas Cruz did was… bullying.

“Contrary to what’s been reported in many media accounts, the D.C. March for Our Lives crowd was not primarily made up of teenagers,” Fisher wrote. “Only about 10 percent of the participants were under 18.”

Democratic assemblywoman Cristina Garcia, facing accusations of sexually harassing and assaulting male employees, tried to also defend herself from those saying she has a drinking problem Monday.

When asked by KQED’s The California Report to address rumors that she has a keg in her office, Garcia seemingly brushed it off by saying it’s common for fellow assemblymembers to have kegs in their offices.

“At some point I’ve had a keg at my office. A lot of us do. It’s part of the culture of socializing after the way business gets done. I think we can have a discussion about that and discuss whether or not that’s appropriate. But because you have alcohol or you are in the possession of alcohol doesn’t make you an alcoholic,” Garcia told The California Report.

You may not be able to watch videos on how to load and clean your gun properly, but hey, at least you can learn how to make crystal meth on YouTube!

You read that right, while videos about guns and gun demos are being taken down, videos where people teach you how to make meth still remain on the site. One example shows a person taking a video on their phone as they make “shake and bake meth,” putting the ingredients in a bottle and shaking it. Less cooking is involved, and practically anyone can do it.

Officials in Schuylkill County are planning to teach students to throw rocks at school shooters.

The superintendent of Blue Mountain School District testified to a state committee in Harrisburg last week that each classroom in the school has been equipped with a five-gallon bucket of river stone, according to WNEP.

“If an armed intruder attempts to gain entrance to any of our classrooms, they will face a classroom full of students armed with rocks and they will be stoned,” Dr. David Helsel said to the House Education Committee in Harrisburg.

Helsel said teachers, staff and students have had active shooter training and routinely hold evacuation drills for active shooter simulations. But in the event of a lockdown, Helsel said, students can use the bucket or rocks to throw at shooters as a last resort.

Mental Health Day

It's Wednesday but it feels like Monday after a week-end of binge drinking. Of course, I'm talking about the news coming over the air waves. It's misery. I know I'm to blame. If I only kept the remote off I wouldn't have this sickness.

I present you a prime example of our sorry state of affairs. Today's buzz against Trump is that he called Putin to congratulate him on his election victory. Really? Ask yourself this question: Do you really give a flying crap whether or not Putin received a call of this nature? I rest my case.

The Queen and I were lying in bed last night watching the WE Channel. They were running a Law and Order Marathon. That's a biggie for us. All of a sudden she said, "Shut it off". Wow! I asked, "What do you want to do". Since we're in our 70's the perverts in this crowd can stop thinking------right now!

She came back with, "We could talk or go to sleep". Then we talked about how long it would take us to fall asleep. She's one of those weirdos who can be in La-La Land in thirty seconds. I stare at the ceiling for two hours.

We've made an executive decision; no more news shows for one week. None at all.

Rep. Tom Suozzi made the remark to constituents at a town hall last week, saying that folks opposed to Trump might resort to the “Second Amendment.”

“It’s really a matter of putting public pressure on the president,” Suozzi said in a newly released video of the March 12 talk in Huntington. “This is where the Second Amendment comes in, quite frankly, because you know, what if the president was to ignore the courts? What would you do? What would we do?”

Rory is right. We live across the street from Muirfield Village Golf Club. Jack Nicklaus will once again host the Memorial golf tournament in late May. One of the advantages of living where we do is free tickets abound. My neighbor's husband, now deceased, was one of the original founders, number five, at Muirfield. His wife still receives passes to the VIP rooms providong free food and drink. Of course, she gives us whatever number of tickets we desire.

We stopped going a few years ago. Oh, we'll go over on a Thursday when the crowds are few and the rambunctious youthful ones haven't made their presence known. On Saturday and Sunday we stay away. The youngsters, twenties though forties take over a create havoc throughout the grounds primarily because of their drunken behavior. W can do without the harassment of golfers, the swearing, etc. Being intelligent beyond my years I would shut my mouth. Who wants to get beat up?

I don't mind. I can lie on the couch and watch on television.The refrigerator and toilet are ten feet away---tops. Old age has its privileges.

Our Country's A Mess

I took special interest in this story because Hilliard, Ohio is the suburb on the Dublin, Ohio border--my border. Hilliard's a nice, not as nice as Dublin but it's getting there. Too many Somalians for my blood but, hey, I'm a racist so what the heck. Hilliard, after Minneapolis has more terrorists than any other community in America. If you don't believe me then ask the local police.

Aside from this there was a student walkout of high schools two days ago. Hilliard has three high schools, all over 1500 in population. Now, let's focus on the kid in the picture. It's finally arrived. That day when school kids from all across the country dump their classes to protest guns. It would be better if they left schools in droves to protest their liberal, leftist leaning teachers. But, wait, those clowns will be with them, too.

Forget half of these kids have never heard of the Florida murders. Furthermore, most of them couldn't find Florida on a map if you offered them a free pizza.

Pay close attention to the protests on television if you force yourself to view MSM telecasts. They'll be professionally made. No crayola markings on those.

Not to worry, though. Next week there'll be another protest. It all depends on when George Soros springs into action.

The Queen was at lunch today with a few of her retired teacher friends. One of them brought up the subject of Columbus kids walking out of school. Naturally, all of our television affiliates were camped out on school grounds trying to get the scoop. One of the teachers said, "What better way for a nutjob to mow down school kids as they protest their right to protest? Makes sense to me.

Finally, I wonder how many of America's future generation, after today's festivities will revert to their old selves this evening by toking up, snorting cocaine, doing whatever they do with meth and all of the other addictive drugs they put in their systems. Sadly, only lip service is paid to the drug us in America killing thousands of our kids on a daily basis.

And why isn't there an outcry from our leaders in D.C.? Because it's not political enough for them.

Professional atheist Richard Dawkins continues to push the envelope against a God-deluded world, proposing that cultivating and eating human “meat” might help society overcome its “taboo” against cannibalism.

Commenting on an article from the UK’s Independent newspaper, which touts the benefits of lab-grown “clean meat,” Dawkins tweeted earlier this month that perhaps something similar could be done with human flesh, which would assist western culture in shedding yet another irrational remnant of its Judeo-Christian roots.

Logan Ireland and his “wife,” Laila, who had served as a male soldier in the U.S. Army before his/her transgender transition; Cornel West, a celebrity Marxist philosopher, LGBT activist, propagandist for Communist China’s genocidal dictator Mao Zedong, and Harvard professor of African-American Studies; and Dr. Ruth Westheimer, the aging sexologist and media darling who endorses virtually every form of sexual deviancy, as long as it’s done “lovingly.”

The Washington Post deputy editorial page editor Ruth Marcus authored the March 9 column, “I would’ve aborted a fetus with Down syndrome. Women need that right,” which argues against a new effort by pro-life groups to ban certain selective abortion practices.

DC: Kristian Saucier, the U.S. Navy sailor pardoned by President Trump Friday, harshly criticized the Obama administration during a Saturday morning interview with Fox News’ Pete Hegseth.

Saucier was charged and jailed in October 2016 for taking photos onboard a nuclear submarine in 2009. He believes his case was an attempt by the Obama administration to “take the heat” off of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server at the State Department.

Daylight Saving Time: Who Gives A Flying Crap

Did you know Ben Franklin came up with the idea of daylight saving time? I'm serious, he did.

Of course, back in those days we were an agricultural society so it gave Farmer Brown another hour to work in the field. Today farming is so mechanized farmers are finished with their work by dinner time. In addition most farms are corporate operations.

I don't care a whit about DST. Why? It's because I'm 72 years old. Every Friday on, oh I forget the TV channel, there's a Law and Order marathon. I'll stay up until 2 AM watching then if I'm lucky nod off.

I hate being old. I seriously do but DST is one advantage we old codgers have over kids. We can do what we want, when we want and not worry about that rotten word called work which screws up the morning.

Word to the wise for young punks tonight. Don't drink. Hangovers on day light saving time are a bitch.

Let me refer to International Women's Day. I read an article last night detailing the two worst countries in the world for chicks. The losers were Afghanistan and Syria. Does anyone know of a single female in the United States living on a par with the gals in these two nations.? If you do I'll buy two goats and a camel for the lady of the house.

It appears the president, the ones the Leftist communists in America hate most, is going to have talks with the twerp from North Korea. If he does then Barack Obama will have to give back his Nobel Peace Prize he won for being Black.

The jobs report for February came in yesterday. We added 313,000 NON-FARM jobs in that month. That's big. Can you say construction and infrastructure jobs?

Stocks are soaring. I had a very good year in '17. The unemployment rate is 4.1%. Unemployment for Blacks and Hispanics is at an all-time low, 6.1%. And yet the Dems, who have done nothing for Blacks in The U.S., constantly complain about how Republicans are 'holding the man down.

Thirty years ago I taught twin girls from some god forsaken eastern Asian country. I asked them what was the greatest aspect of this country they first noticed. Their answer: supermarkets with food abounding throughout. That was thirty years ago. Take a stroll through a Publix, Hy-Vee or Kroger. They're like mega malls.

We have had a television for ten years. It has a 36" screen. We paid $400 for it. Today one can purchase a TV with a screen as large as an outdoor drive-in movie for $150.

My youngest son told his kids they live in the greatest of times ever in the U.S. and he's correct. If in 1996 you could have told me as an on the road salesman I could call a customer from my car instead of pulling up to a pay phone I'd have laughed at your stupidity. As I write I'm listening to Rush Limbaugh on my Smart Phone while watching television. "Hey, kiddies, I've learned to multi-task".

I'm quite happy and satisfied this afternoon. Poor CNN, NBC, MSNBC, Their people must be sucking down valium by the bushel full.
