Robert O'Rourke is trying to unseat Ted Cruz in Texas for a senate seat. Cruz, a bona fide Hispanic has had a great deal of fun at O'Rourke's expense wondering how the Democrat claims a Hispanic heritage.
R.F. O'Rourke has Irish parents. Supposedly, his maternal grandmother had some Mexican blood though it can't be verified so he thought it might be best to add some flavor to his name by coming up with the nickname of Beto which denotes a Mexican nickname.
O'Rourke even applied to the Hispanic Heritage Society to be added to their list. No such luck. They said he didn't have enough south of the border blood.
Some people will do anything to get elected. Woo, woo, woo!
