During the Easter Season, especially, I tend to watch a slew of biblical movies. There was one on TBN called The Ten Commandments. I've found it quite compelling. Before I move on this film isn't THE Ten Commandments that graced the silver screen in the 1950's. This was made in 2006.
My short term memory is horrid so when I read scripture the words dissolve in no time. Watching this film especially reminded me that people, even the ancient Israelites, were as dumb as posts.
Here's Moses leading the Lost Tribe out of bondage after 430 years of Egyptian slavery and his followers are constantly on his rear end for being clueless. He brought down a myriad of plagues on the Egyptians, parted the Red Sea for their safety, allowed them to have daily water and manna from heaven all with God providing. Yet, these clowns questioned his every move. They constantly denounced him. Some plotted assassination. Lord knows how many times he saved their proverbial bacon.
What if, today, a man came along, raised the dead to life, allowed the blind to see, healed the lame and rose from the dead. Would we, in 2019, have this guy crucified? Probably. Why? The easy answer is because people are as stupid today as they were in 1400 B.C.
