My boy Charlie and the guy shown above have much in common when it comes to sleeping. The past four years we've had my best pal I've noticed his sleep patterns. In summertime he'll sleep under the bed. In winter he comes into our bed, sleeps from 11 to midnight then heads out for his bed. At around 2 am it's back into our bed and he stays there until it's time for his 6 am piddle.
There will be times when Charlie leaves my bed and starts in with his ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz's next to his bed. I'll get up and direct him to that bed and he stays there until he's ready to move.
A couple of times in his life he's had a hankerin' for middle of the night food. He does know where we keep the garbage can underneath the kitchen sink and when I go down in the morning it's remnants are strewn on the kitchen floor; not often but once in awhile.
What's he doing right now? Sleeping, of course. It's a dogs life.
