The War On Women That Wasn't

Mia Love ran for a seat in the House of Representatives and won. The young woman is a Republican. Mia is from the state of Utah, Mormon country and very, very White. Can we please put to rest the mantra that Republicans are racists. And while were at it let's stop the War on Women nonsense.

Joni Ernst became the first woman elected to Congress in Iowa. She defeated Rep. Bruce Braley, a trial lawyer who became notorious for missteps along the campaign trail. Ernst will also be the first female combat veteran to serve in the Senate.

West Virginia elected its first female senator. Shelley Moore Capito defeated Democrat Natalie Tennant to fill the seat of retiring Sen. Jay Rockefeller.

Republican women also fared well in House races.

Barbara Comstock won the 10th congressional district in Virginia against John Foust, who came under fire as an elitist when it was discovered his wife’s OBGYN practice does not accept Medicaid.

Elise Stefanik became the youngest woman ever elected to Congress. She won New York’s 21st district, defeating Democrat Aaron Woolf, a filmmaker.

Words Of Wisdom From The Council Bluffs Cowboy

My good friend, The Council Bluffs Cowboy, is my western Iowa correspondent. He's one of those fellas who will read an article or some piece of my work then have a counter point. It's not that he's all-time argumentative. He always believes we should think about things until we get the entire story.

The Cowboy sent me a tidbit of wisdom this morning and I had to pass it along. He said he borrowed it from another source but it sounds a heck of a lot like him. Truth be told it was a comment on lucianne.com

"When you go to vote on Tuesday, ask yourself this question:
Am I more likely to be broke, infected, or beheaded
than I was six years ago"?

Voters Who Cause Me To Scratch My Head

Every so often I'll stop into a fast food restaurant. I never use the drive thru. It's a waste of gasoline. It's a proven scientific fact that ten drive thru people are seriously obese and waste more fuel waiting than all drivers in LA on their go home from work.

Anyway, let's say I stop in at Wendy's for a quick pick up of two kid's cheeseburgers. We'll also say there is a Ma and Pa in front of me and twelve people ahead of them.

Wendy's has a huge menu board across the counter for diners to figure out what they want before they get to the ordering station. I'm one of those guys who knows what he wants before I walk through the door. Others not so.

After some time, more than I can stand unless a hot looking woman is next to me, Ma and Pa are up for ordering. The next conversation is classic and occurs all to often. Ma says, "Oh, I don't know. What do you think Pa"? Then she'll rattle off five or six different items she might want. It's so tedious I want to smack butt with a cattle prod and tell her to get on with it. Finally, thank God, she says to the kid at the counter, "Oh, give me a hamburger, fries and a diet Coke". All that for something my two year old grandson could handle and in a lot less time.

This scenario brings me to the Iowa senatorial race between  the Republican, Joni Ernst, and the Democrat, Bruce Braley. According to the latest polls Mrs. Ernst is up on Braley by 7 points. Here it is, one day before the election, and I was reading today's Des Moines Register about who was voting for whom. Get this. There are today, says the Register, 9 percent of the voting population who have not made up their minds. They are undecided.

This is mindboggling. They've been looking at the menu for over a year. These candidates have told every lie about their opponent possible and we all know how wonderful they are because they've told us 24/7. The 'Undecided' are folks I don't know or hang around with at all.
I believe they happen to be a myth. I've never met one and I'm certain you haven't, either. Everyone has an opinion. If you asked anybody on the street or down at the city dump how they felt about crayons you'd get an answer. If you asked the man on the street if they were voting for Joni, Bruce or Adolf Hitler you'd get an answer. So why the big problem with making a decision on Braley and Ernst?

Show me an 'Undecided' and I'll show you someone who doesn't know if they want fries, a cup of chili or a kick in the head.

A Political Tsunami

It's the height of optimism to write this piece and present it in blog form for you folks to see. My prediction on the outcome of Tuesday's election is a tidal wave of enthusiasm calling for the beginning of a new America, a fresh start if you will. Out with the old and in with the new.

I read a commentary from a pundit,  it may have been in the NY Times, but it makes no difference. He said the Republicans lack a positive message and the reason they are voting is because it's a vote against Obama and Democrats. This, he said, is not the way to win an election. I vehemently disagree.

The American people are fed up to their collective necks with the negativism that has come out of the White House just as they are with the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and his corrupt cronies.

Harken back to the words or our president. He told us, after he was elected, there would be no Red States or Blue States, only one America. To that I say, "Bull hockey".

Prior to his ascension to the throne Barack Obama made a Middle Eastern trip followed by stops to European capitols apologizing for bad actions the United States has done to the world for three hundred years. This is garbage and the giant is about to awaken.

As an example, I live in Ohio. It's a football state. The citizens love their Buckeyes and they love to win. Have you ever heard the phrase, "Winning isn't the most important thing but it's a heck of a lot better than whatever comes in second". That's the way Buckeye fans are and so are Americans. As General Patton said, "America loves a winner". The American people not only love a winner they demand one.

Americans don't like to be in second place in sports or in world affairs. We didn't make the world 'Safe for Democracy' by being apologists for our sacrifices made in both World Wars.
I promise you this. When the first and second A-bombs were dropped on Japan on August 6 and August 9 of 1945 the American people didn't wring their hands in anguish for the devastation wrought on the Japanese people who started the whole mess. The War was over and we were victorious. That's why it's called V-J Day.

Mr. Obama and the Democrat Party have made it a mission to divide this great nation; and to make our leadership on the world stage as important as if we were a Third World country.

They've used the same mantra that encompasses their entire playbook; War on Women, Pro-Choice , Racism and the environment..It doesn't work. On the list of priorities these issues rank at the bottom. Unless you happen to be a 20-year old Sociology Major at The University of California at Berkley, the environment is about as important as saving a spotted tree frog. Women want what's good for their children; food, health, security. As Sarah Palin said: "Don't mess with Mama Bear".

The attempt to create a schism in America most likely came about by accident. It happened in Cambridge, Massachusetts when a Harvard professor, a friend of Obama's, was mistakenly arrested by the local police. A neighbor of the man called the police thinking a burglar might be breaking into his home. Now, why in the name of common sense would Obama bring this up at a press conference? My guess is he thinks everything is about him and his speeches come from the Mount.  Of course, the president overreacted and told the country the police acted "stupidly". Then he had to walk this nonsense back to stem a more than controversial statement. The result was the great 'Beer Summit' with the neighbor and arresting officer, Joe Biden and himself to stem the negativity he "stupidly" planted. I wonder how much the taxpayer shelled out for a private flight to Cambridge, Mass. The answer is 'too much'.

Continued racial division took place a few years later when Obama told us, "If I had a son he would look just like Trayvon". Well, I have two sons and neither looks like me. Am I to assume my wife cheated on me? A statement like that might cause a domestic war so why should I open my mouth and say such a ridiculous statement? But, then again, Barry and Eric Holder had an agenda and I don't.
This was a very bad move by Mr. Honcho. People remember those words and words mean things.

I am not a racist. I vote for Blacks, Whites, Hispanics and women. I cast my ballots for people shorter than I. My wife and I vote issues and my suspicion is the average American citizen does, too. I checked my voter list of those for whom I cast an absentee ballot. I gave my check mark to five women and they were all running against men and I never once considered gender until I rechecked the ballot.

I would strongly consider voting for Dr. Ben Carson if he ran for president. He's smart, a good man who grew up in poverty in Detroit and became the head of the pediatric department at Johns Hopkins University. I trust what he says and I appreciate his stances. I would never give my sacred vote to Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, Maxine Waters or Marion Berry. Does that make me racist? I don't believe it does. It makes me sane.

I believe in casting my ballot for a person with integrity, someone with whom I share the same values. I'd like to believe the people I support would believe exactly as I do on every issue but that's an impossibility. We all need to accept compromise on certain issues and hope for the best. Compromise is a word not in this presidents vocabulary.

I vote for candidates who believe in this country first and what's best for the American people. After all, they are supposed to work for us but in Washington D.C. that isn't always the case with both parties.

In 2008 I held my nose and voted for John McCain. He wasn't a fighter. I felt he was all about John McCain and, furthermore, it's my belief he didn't wish to win so he could remain in the senatorial 'old boys club'.

The Republican Party as of November 5 will be positioned to take control of the House and Senate in January and it won't be close. It's going to be a tsunami for both the House and Senate.

Even if the Senate is held by the Republicans for only two years it will be a magnificent two years. I won't have to see Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin, crooks who make William Marcy Tweed look like a boy scout. They'll have much less face time to slam the people on the Right for being out of touch with the mainstream. The only place they'll be seen is on Sunday morning's Meet The Press which has the same viewership as The Rachel Maddow Show.

Don't get me wrong. There are a couple of bad guys on the Right, too. Roy Blount is a prime example. PAC money seems to have a direct pipeline to his wallet. But, there are others out there, Ted Cruz for instance, who might bring some sanity to the Senate. It's my hope that Mitch McConnell will be so muted he'll have the voice power of Charlie McCarthy when he's in his suitcase.

Two years without Harry Reid, the guy from Torchlight, Nevada. It's akin to the old line from the movie, Field of Dreams. "Is this heaven"? "No", said the American voter, "It's the United States of America".

Restoring Faith In Humankind

This writer is deeply embarrassed. I've become entirely too cynical about the integrity and honesty of the average American citizen. Getting to the point: An armored truck's backdoor became unhinged and money spewed all over I-270 near Washington D.C. What would you do? How many vehicles would stop and make a mad dash to stuff cash in their pockets and speed off? Read the blurb then stack the outcome next to your own personal value system.

WASHINGTON - Drivers on northbound Interstate 270 hopped out of their cars to grab money after the door of a GardaWorld armored truck malfunctioned and a bag of cash fell out Friday morning, Maryland State Police say.
It happened after 8 a.m. near Urbana, Maryland, forcing northbound I- 270 near Md. 80 to close for about 20 minutes. Police say the preliminary investigation indicates a door lock malfunctioned, causing the armored car door to open. The bag of cash fell into the fast lane. "There was no crash. Cash was strewn across the interstate, but was quickly picked up by all the motorists who immediately stopped," writes Maryland State Police spokesman Greg Shipley in an email to WTOP. The driver of the security truck moved to the shoulder, and he told police when he did, a number of drivers stopped on the highway and picked up the money. When fire department officials got on the scene, all of the drivers picking up money left. Later, one person who stopped returned the cash to the Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police.

Special Ed Makes It Easy For John Kasich

The worst candidate in the history of gubernatorial elections is about to lose in a landslide. If you think this post is about Wendy 'Barbie' Davis from Texas then go back and eat your cereal because it isn't going to happen.

Current Ohio governor, John Kasich, is about to be re-elected without sweat in his eyebrows. Bookies in Vegas won't take bets. It won't be close and the man to blame is the Democrat candidate, Ed FitzGerald. I haven't done one iota of research on Fitz until today but let it be noted he does have a decent resume'. However, an A+ resume doesn't make for an A+ candidate. The Cuyahoga County resident(Cleveland and a few suburbs) was a Mayor, member of City Council, Asst. Cuyahoga prosecutor and, finally, a Special Agent for the FBI. Wowie! That's heady stuff.

Two years ago FitzGerald threw his hat in the ring to run against incumbent, John Kasich. Most folks in the Buckeye State figured it'd be a close election but Kasich has improved the economy and he's a middle of the roader when it comes to politics. In other words, he irritates Lefties and Righties both.

The first problem for this Dem is he selected Eric Kearney as his running mate. Bad move, Ed. There's a process in politics called vetting. Quite simply it's an act of performing background checks  before offering jobs. In typical Democrat fashion Kearney first accepted the job then dropped out because of a controversy over back taxes owed by he and his wife.

ED FITZGERALDS ULTIMATE DOWNFALL: On August 14, 2014 in Lakewood, Ohio(suburb located next to Fitz's hometown) police found FitzGerald in a car with a female member of an Irish trade commission in a parking lot. Since the woman wasn't his current wife and it was 4:30 am more than a couple of questions were raised. I asked my wife if she would mind if I was, innocently mind you, in a car with another woman at that time of the morning and she responded with, "Would you mind if I scheduled an appointment for your personal castration"?

FitzGerald's excuses(s). 1) We got lost when I was taking her back to her hotel and we stopped to figure things out. 2) "These accusations are baseless and disgusting". Funny how when under pressure the lies don't sound so plausible do they? Especially when Fitzgerald knows every street and business, grocery store and, yes, even the parking lots in Lakewood, Ohio.

Don't stop reading. The story gets better or, if you're a Democrat as bad as it can get. When the police asked for a driver's license FitzGerald didn't have one. The candidate for governor from the great State of Ohio hadn't had one for ten years and had been doing county business for 21 months during that period of time. Politicians say strange things. Eddie had an excuse for this lapse. "I have a driver's license. I just didn't renew it. That's like John Kerry saying on funding the Iraq War, "I was for it before I was against it".

I saw a FitzGerald bumper sticker on a Cadillac Seville this morning. I laughed. These people donated money to a lost cause. It serves them right.

Damn Bro!

A South Carolina woman told police yesterday that her former boyfriend stole her “Obama phone” during a confrontation yesterday morning, according to an incident report.
Tasha Mallory, 29, said that she was on her phone when Desmond Ty’Quan Gray, 22, “entered her apartment uninvited” Monday morning and “began to ask her who she was on the phone with.” Mallory and Gray “are not dating but have one child in common,” cops noted.
According to Mallory, Gray tried to grab her phone, but she held it close to her chest “so Mr. Gray could not get to it.” Gray, Mallory alleged, then pushed her to the floor, bit her shoulder, and scratched her arm. He also allegedly wrested her phone away and then fled the residence in a green vehicle.
“Ms. Mallory described the cell phone as an ‘Obama phone,’” according to a Spartanburg Police Department report http://www.thesmokinggun.com/buster/man-steals-obama-phone-during-domestic-dispute-687432
