I remember way back when Hollywood types had influence. People like Bob Hope or Frank Sinatra, Doris Day or Donna Reed could make statements and people would listen and maybe, even, follow their advice. I don't think it's that way these days.
There's an actress, Anne Hathaway who was on a talk show this past week and stated, "Abortion is another word for mercy." She can say that just like I can say whatever I want even though it isn't true.
So, you know me. I was thinking about abortion on my drive home from Kansas to Ohio the other day. Since the Supreme Court acted on Roe v. Wade there have been 2500 fewer abortions in Ohio. This doesn't mean there might have been more unwanted births. It could be that now that the rules have changed people seeing the consequences of their actions and being more careful when they do the deed.
I suspect you know I'm a hardcore pro-lifer and in this modern era, to my way of thinking, one has to want to get pregnant just so they can have an abortion. For instance, doesn't the local drug store still sell condoms? Isn't there a thing called both the before and after pill? In a Seinfeld episode years ago Elaine was out on the prowl for 'the sponge? I don't know much about but it has to have something to do with killing off sperm.
Did you know that 60% of abortions in this country are done to Black women. Golly gee Ned, they only make up 6.7% of the population. Did you know that Planned Parenthood was started by Margaret Sanger in the 1920's for the purpose of aborting as many Black babies as possible and the first abortion clinics were established in Black neighborhoods? ? Isn't that something? A white Democrat woman whose great desire was to kill as many Black babies as possible. In my world that's called extermination. I wonder why Democrats don't tout Sanger more for what she was. and promoted?
Democrats are hoping abortion is a voting issue this cycle. They'hanging their hangers on it. I've got another thought on this subject. Way back when Bill Clinton spoke about abortion. He said we need to make it safe, legal and rare. Gulp! I just choked on a glob of phlegm.
On a religious note there are quite a few Roman Catholic Democrats in government from local to national. There are a slug of us in the Senate and House of Representatives. Tim Ryan is running for the US Senate from the State of Ohio. He says he's a practicing Roman Catholic just like Biden and Pelosi. Yet all three along with their colleagues want abortion all the way up to the natural birth of the baby. This sounds so disgusting I can't imagine it.
Getting pregnant if one doesn't want to seems to me to be extremely irresponsible considering the many avenues for not getting pregnant in the first place.
