Words Mean Things

I first heard the phrase, "Words mean things" from Rush Limbaugh. People can't run around spouting hate without there being repercussions----can they? Well, it's only one man's opinion but I believe those on the Left can get away with nonsensical talk much more that we on the Right. As an example, the head basketball coach at Texas Tech University lost his job the other day because of something he said in the confines of the locker room a couple years ago. One of his players, a Black kid, was incensed that said coach quoted from the Bible and uttered the word 'slave'. Now, the coach is gone. https://dcenquirer.com/shameful-texas-tech-coach-suspended-for-referencing-the-bible-he-will-never-coach-another-game/

There's a television show that runs every morning called The View. I don't watch it---never have but somehow what the hosts and their guests say and do make national headlines. A couple days ago one of these guests was Jane Fonda and the subject of abortion was brought up. The long story short is this. Fonda stated pro-life politicians and activists should be murdered. Say what? I've uttered ridiculous words in my life many times but my platform wasn't national television and I'm sure Fonda didn't think before she spoke. Immediately after these words came out of her pie hole the hosts of the show said this was over the top. And this morning Fonda offered a left handed apology but I have to wonder: do you suppose there might be a wacko nut job in this country who could and would take Fonda's words to heart? Of course there is. Would Fonda be held accountable? Doubtful.

I can only imagine the impact if instead of Fonda utterances a person on the Right said pro-abortionists should be murdered.

Finally, I came across this story this morning about a nutjob who committed a double murder because of he didn't like a podcast. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11847291/Seattle-podcaster-ex-Google-engineer-husband-killed-1-6m-home-crazed-Texas-trucker.html
