On This July 4th Week-End: A Coincidence Or Divine Providence

Some of you may not be aware of the relationship between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. They were, to say the least, adversaries in political thought but were patriots to the core. But, in later years they reconciled their differences.

Adams, from Massachusetts, was what would be considered a pro-government person. Jefferson, from Virginia was pro states rights. If you happen to be a liberal they both served as presidents of the United States and were signers of the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain. Great Britain, commonly referred to as England is across the Atlantic Ocean from us(That's the one opposite of the Pacific Ocean which is borders the coast of California, Oregon and Washington).

Both served as presidents and did their nation well.

Was it coincidence or Divine Providence? Adams died on the morning of July 4, 1826, fifty years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. His last words were, "So, Jefferson survives me".  Little did he know that Jefferson died a few hours prior him, also on July 4, 1826.
