J. Edgar Hoover was the first and longest tenured Director of The FBI. Rumors were rampant during his life and after that he had a certain clothing fetish when by himself. Number 2 in command at the FBI was Clyde Tolson and rumor mongers maintained they were 'getting it on" but there was never any proof. He even carried on with Hollywood actress Dorothy Lamour so this might put this rumor to rest. Maybe.
Hoover's statement of "We always get our man" has gone by the wayside. Today we learned a close acquaintance of Nikolas de Jesus Cruz, the Florida shooter, went to the FBI this past January 5. According to the New York office of the FBI they were told about words and statements of a destructive nature uttered by Cruz. This source also told our top law officials that Cruz was going to take a gun to his school and kill students.
The New York FBI, by their own admission, stated they didn't follow through and notify the Miami office to investigate. Their comment was, "We dropped the ball".
So, now we can lump the FBI into a grouping composed of others of their ilk: congressmen and used car salesmen.
