All Hallmark

Now that the Christmas season has concluded the Hallmark Channel is about to move on to other subjects. Let's see------------hmmm. Oh yeah, since it's January they'll be showing Easter films soon. Upon reflection there were many changes in the subjects and subject matter in 2020. Let's have a look.

2020 saw the introduction of minorities not as best friends of the very white blond star but as the stars of the shows. There were blacks with blacks and blacks with whites and they lived happily ever after except--------------in the final analysis it was still the same old same old. If someone who had never seen a Hallmark movie asked you to describe one of your favorite stars you might come up with this:

I'll take the one in the middle or maybe the one in the upper left. Oh heck! I'll take 'em all.

I was warned early on there was going to be a story about same sex couples but I didn't believe it. One Saturday evening I was watching and then it happened. The son comes home with a friend. They're standing on the front porch. The friend asks, "Did you tell your parents yet?" Uh-oh, I thought. This is it. Then it happened. They kissed and I immediately switched channels. Now, don't get me wrong. I could care less if a guy wants to be with a guy but I don't want it on my airwaves. At least the producers could have given us some lesbian action. Guys with guys? Not a chance. Women kissng? For guys it's kind of a turn on.

Drinkers of alcoholic beverages know that they and Hallmark go hand in hand especially on New Years.

But the drinking part can go on and on so I've decided to publish the official Hallmark bingo game card. Thank me later.
