A couple who had been married for 70 years, Pauline and Richard Payne from Canton, Ohio, died within twenty-four hours of each other this past week. They were aged 90 and 91 respectively. The cause of their deaths was, and you knew this was coming, COVID related. I don't wish to be crass but I'd suggest their lungs quit functioning after their hearts stopped beating.
I couldn't help but contemplate words uttered by their son about their untimely demise(s). "We feel cheated."
