The Queen and I rarely discuss current events or the politics of the day. It's not that she's a flaming liberal; far from it. We both are very conservative in are beliefs but she keeps her thoughts to herself whereas, I don't. It makes life function better for the both of us.
Anyway, two days ago we were at the dinner table and she brought up the Bud Lite situation. It was then I asked her, "Why aren't women outraged about this?" Am I to understand, I asked, the average American gal thinks Dylan Mulvany is worthy of the attention he's receiving not to mention the massive amounts of money being thrown at his feet for being a freak? It was then I told her she, above all people, should have her picture on the beer can. And I went on------there are literally millions of females who are far more worthy of this adulation than some guy with a penis who dresses in skirts and has no need to wear a bra. I sort of understand this silence because normal folks have lives. They have to put food on the table and pay the rent not to mention every other aspect of life requiring cash. When there's a social movement it's actually a small part of the population to provide the impetus for action. All you have to do is get the media on board along with 10% of the population. Think not? Well, this is how the American Revolution was started; a small group of men started the revolt and in no time we're in a war.
Let me get back to Her Majesty for a moment. I very rarely put mention of her in this blog. It's because she asked me not to and if I do I've promised not to use her birth name. My wife, The Queen, deserves recognition but she would never seek out accolades and I'm only using her story for illustration. As I mentioned, there are millions of women who have achieved in life.
Ours was a family of educators. I was a teacher. My wife was a teacher but her successes far exceeded mine. We started out in Iowa in the early Seventies. Her Majesty received her degree in early education; specifically educating pre-school children with mental and physical handicaps. The State of Iowa, at the time, had not one single program for children with handicaps. If they went to school they were placed in 'normal' educational settings. Folks, I was a secondary instructor and in my classes over the years I had some young people who were autistic. How good of a job do you supposed I did with these kids? Not very much.
Let me cut to the chase. Her Majesty started, in the Iowa school system, the very first program for children who had mental and physical challenges. And by the time we left Iowa for Ohio in 1989 these programs were mandatory in all public schools in the Hawkeye state.
When we moved to Ohio The Queen was hired as a school teacher but, as was the case in Iowa, there were zero programs for challenged children. Guess who started the very first educational program? And now, all across Ohio, kids have an opportunity to lead lives of value. Think about this the next time you shop at Kroger's and you see a young person with Downs Syndrome bagging groceries. Thank my wife, please.
I don't write this so Ohio will erect a statue to Her Majesty, Besides, if this happened, she would be totally embarrassed because its not her style. I told her at the dinner table two nights ago if anyone deserved to have her picture on a product, a beer can, a Maybelline product or any of the other twelve items Mulvaney is receiving money from it should be her. And that's the truth. There's is no possible argument from the Left to change my mind on this subject.
So, where are the women who should be breathing nostril fire at being slighted at what they do best; being mother's and wives and the group that has framed this nation? Why aren't they marching in anger at how they're being disrespected? I often poke fun of women but not in a malicious way. Besides, I've often said when Her Majesty tells me to do something I don't want to do I have two words for her: "Yes Dear." Females have determined the course of this nation. As an example, this country went through a post Civil War period in the western part of this nation when killing and lawlessness ruled. I'm talking about that ten year period mostly commonly referred to as the Wild West. The men who inhabited these areas were like men today when women aren't around. They caroused, drank, gambled and they shot each other during a ten year period like no other in our history. And how did the West get tamed? Well, women started populating these areas around the 1890's and when they did they got together with the men and had one order for their bad behavior: They told them to settle down, go to church and to "knock this shit off!" Women, don't you know, have that kind of power.
In addition to the beer scandal there's another issue where women have been silenced. It revolves around Lia Thomas who is the gargantuan swimmer destroying females in the swimming pool but the outrage from our female society is negligible. Why is this? Why are women, aside from the Kentucky real female swimmer, Riley Gaines, not bombarding congress with massive protests. Why aren't they castigating our communist media; exposing them on a daily basis with the vitriol they deserve? Why aren't they marching in the streets?
"Hey Girls, do what you did during the Wild West period. Our country needs you.
