Thomson Illinois: Wise Up

Just a few thoughts about the transfer of thuggish, killer Muslim fanatics now stationed at Guantanamo. I've had the opportunity to watch Sen. Dick "turban" Durbin of Illinois and Gov. `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````Pat Quinn of the same state along with Richard Daley, Mayor of Chicago, tell us how financially sound and safe it will be that these murderers will be housed in a nearly empty prison in Thomson, Illinois. I know Thomson. It's on the Mississippi River and about fifty miles north of Davenport, Iowa. I lived in the area for fifteen years so I think it's safe to say it was home base. I raised my children in the area. We made trips up the Mississippi to enjoy the bluffs of the valley and the majesty of the Father of Waters.
Thomson, Illinois is farm country. The men don bib overalls and Felco Feed caps. They wear boots, not the sissy kind one would find in Greenwich Village, but boots that due Midwest work; in the fields and on the farm. The women are down home and cook for their husbands. They take the kids to school, pick them up afterward and make sure they go to church on Sunday. The highlight of their week is supporting the local high school football team and stopping in to a pub for beer, brats and pizza to talk over the game.
Durbin, Quinn and Daley tell us that the transfer of Guantanamo inmates will bring jobs to an economic stricken area.
Common sense needs to prevail. These criminals aren't your South Chicago variety inmate. They aren't white collar criminals from downstate Illinois(downstate Illinois is anyplace outside metropolitan Chicago.) They squat when they eat and their eating utensils are used mostly for slitting the throats of their enemies. The men and women of Thomson do not have the training nor the aptitude to corral and control the type of scum who will be inhabiting their area. Trained guards with experience in dealing with Muslim fanatics will need to be hired and they will move into the landscape from outside Thompson. If Obama had brains he'd hire Blackwater to do the job. Our guys in Cuba were under scrutiny for supposedly mishandling the Qua ran. What the hell is going to happen when some naive local, trying to be nice, offers one of these losers a ham sandwich?
In addition, there's going to be a huge red flag planted in the area. If you don't think it'll be a focal point for retribution from Al Quaeda against the locals or guards then that person needs to have a talk with me about being really, really stupid.
Do the people want to jeopardize the lives of their children, friends, relatives and selves for a few jobs? Do they or should they want to take the chance? Do they want to trust elected officials who live 150 miles away, minimum?
How much would anyone relish having these people, towel heads if you will,(is that politically incorrect?) in their community? Not that many, I presume.
