Harry Reid: Dumber Than Dumb
In an interview with the liberal Huffington Post, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid alleged that Mitt Romney paid no taxes for more than a decade—and that his father, the long deceased George Romney, would be embarrassed by his own son.
The unsubstantiated allegation about Romney’s taxes was based on what Reid described as the recollection of an unnamed Bain investor. Reid admitted he did not know if the claim was true, but aired it anyway.

Illegals Released By Feds Killed 19; 142 Sex Crimes
The Obama administration released illegal immigrants who went on to commit more crimes, including charges of 19 murders, 3 attempted murders and 142 sex crimes, the House Judiciary Committee said in a report Tuesday.
All told, the nearly 47,000 illegal immigrants the administration was notified of but declined to deport between 2008 and 2011 under its Secure Communities program had a recidivism rate of 16 percent, the committee said.

1001 Reasons To Vote Against Obama
A month ago, or maybe two, I ended publishing segments of reasons to vote against Obama. In this one post you'll have all 1001. Heed my advice; pass it on to everyone you know, especially liberals.

Chicago Values
You'll recall Mayor Rahm Emanuel stating last week that Chickl-fil-A doesn't represent Chicago values. Of course, he's correct. The last two governor's are in jail for fraudulent indiscretions involving bribery among other things. It's called the Chicago Way; corrupt government that long preceded the days of Al Capone. But more than that, Chicago is the murder capital of the world. Think not?
You would be wrong. Take a look at the included paragraph explaining the numbers and continue on with the entire article.
Since 2001, more than 5,000 people have been killed by gunfire in the streets of Chicago, a staggering number that is more than double the number of American soldiers who have been killed fighting in Afghanistan during the same period. The majority of the violence has been attributed to gang rivalries that have escalated into open warfare, and as in any war innocent civilians have often borne a disproportionate share of the suffering.

Are You Watching The Olympics
I have been so remiss in blogging the past few days I almost feel like I've abandoned my readers. Beginning last Saturday I drove to Des Moines and had breakfast with my all-time favorite assistant basketball coach. We were together for one year; 1974-75. He left after that and returned to Dowling High School in Des Moines. How do two people fill two hours in a 37 year absence? It had been that long since we had seen each other and there had only been two phone calls in that time. I goofed up. Regardless, he's still a fabulous man and I didn't think my day could get any better--but it did.
In the afternoon I spent a good two hours with a man who was in my high school class. We rarely spoke to each other and, over the years people told him I didn't care for him and other people related to me that he didn't much care for me. How silly is that. Anyway, I drove to his home in Johnston, Iowa and we chitchatted about boyhood days, classmates, aches and pains, politics--you name it. What a fabulous afternoon. The next day I drove hours to Belle Plaine, Iowa and met my old college baseball coach and his wife for lunch. He is the most amazing man and I owe him more than he'll ever know about life and living the right way.
On to Naperville, Illinois. The Sigma Nu Fraternity, Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa for the years 1966-69 are meeting now for our annual golf and fun reunion. Man, these guys are getting old. Enough of this.
Are you watching the Olympics? Not me. Mitt Romney is owed an apology*. This thing is all screwed up. Have you seen the massive amount of vacant seats in all the venues? Are you noticing the number of political discussions that have interrupted the games; North Korea's flag was that of South Korea. A judo guy from Iran feigned illness he wouldn't have to compete against an Israeli. More of the Olympians were sent home for tweeting what were considered racist remarks, even though they weren't. The games that call for peace and brotherhood are still controlled by a bunch of grumpy old men.
I know people who are glued to the TV watching every single event: water polo, gymnastics, beach volley ball, rifle shooting; it's an endless list. I wouldn't watch these things any other time so why now?
The Univ. of North Carolina did a study on television exposure. The most televised sports were those where females wore the least clothing. I wonder why that is.
*Police in charge of keeping the Olympics safe have lost the keys to Wembley Stadium. Scotland Yard admitted last night that it was to blame for the shocking breach. Search teams spent days desperately hunting for the keys after they were mislaid during the final preparations for the Games. Sources said it would cost up to £40,000 to replace the hi-tech laser keys. The latest fiasco threatened to further damage already fragile confidence in security arrangements for the Games. It also provoked a furious behind-the-scenes row between the police, Locog and private security firm G4S over who was responsible.

Teachers Unions Go To Bat For Sexual Predators
In the last five years in New York City, 97 tenured teachers or school employees have been charged by the Department of Education with sexual misconduct. Among the charges substantiated by the city's special commissioner of investigation—that is, found to have sufficient merit that an arbitrator's full examination was justified—in the 2011-12 school year:
• An assistant principal at a Brooklyn high school made explicit sexual remarks to three different girls, including asking one of them if she would perform oral sex on him.
• A teacher in Queens had a sexual relationship with a 13-year old girl and sent her inappropriate messages through email and Facebook.

CNN Plays 'Stupid Girls' Preceding Story About Palin
Remember last November when Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) was disgracefully greeted with the song "Lyin' A-- B--ch" during her appearance on NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon?
On Sunday, Pink's "Stupid Girls" was played before a CNN Sunday Morning piece about former Alaska governor Sarah Palin visiting a Chick-fil-A restaurant to show support for the embattled company (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Happy Ramadan To You
As is customary, President Obama and wife Michelle released their annual Ramadan greetings last Friday. Also customary for Obama, it was full of platitudes about Islam’s supposedly invaluable contribution to American culture, and devoid of any acknowledgement of the dark reality of the Arab Spring that he helped facilitate.

Canada To Sell $15.1 Billion In Keystone Oil To ChiComs
When President Barack Obama blocked the Keystone Pipeline, Republicans said the move would encourage Canada to pursue oil deals with China instead of the United States and cede a massive chunk of North American oil assets to the communist nation. Now, with China's state-run oil company CNOOC poised to cut a $15.1 billion deal--the largest ever foreign acquisition for a Chinese company.

Breitbart Offering $50K For Obama Video
From the Jerusalem Post
The US Internet news portal, Breitbart news is offering a $50,000 reward to anyone who can provide the videotape of a 2003 dinner honoring a radical Palestinian American academic attended by then Illinois state senator Barack Obama.
Obama has acknowledged a close, long-term friendship between his family and the Khalidi family. Khalidi and his wife Mona, who served as the editor of the PLO’s English news service in Beirut from 1976-1982, hosted a fundraiser for Obama’s failed Congressional campaign in 2000.
According to the Times report, at the 2003 dinner, Khalidi told his Palestinian American guests to support Obama’s 2004 bid for the US Senate. According to the report Khalidi said, “You will not have a better senator under any circumstances.”
During Obama’s tenure as a director on the board of the Woods Fund of Chicago, the charitable group donated $75,000 to Khalidi’s Arab American Action Network.
The Times article notes the virulently anti-Israel discussion that took place at the 2003 Khalidi dinner. Among other things, a Palestinian read a poem accusing Israel’s government of terrorism and sharply criticizing US support for Israel. The speaker reportedly threatened Israel saying that if Palestinian interests are not secured, “then you [Israel] will never see a day of peace.”
So What Do You Think About This Series Of Pics?
Make a guess on what this is all about. I promise you won't be that surprised.

White House Lies About Returning Churchhill Bust
The White House incorrectly claimed that a bust of Winston Churchill was not removed from the White House when President Obama moved in, insisting with emphatic certainty that it had simply been moved to the residence but then retracting the assertion.
In a “Fact Check” post added to the White House website Friday, White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer scornfully dismissed as “100% false” the “rumor” that Obama had removed the Churchill bust that had presided over the George W. Bush Oval Office and shipped it back to the British.
Turns out Pfeiffer’s was the false statement.

Obama's Top Ten United Kingdom Gaffes
While in London, Romney was asked by NBC's Brian Williams about the security situation surrounding the London Olympics, something that has received a ton of media attention, and this is what he said:
Mr. Romney told NBC News he saw “a few things that were disconcerting” about London’s preparations. “The stories about the private security firm not having enough people, supposed strike of immigration and customs officials, that obviously is not something which is encouraging,” he said.
Pause for … gasp.
Pause for … and egads.
That's right, Mitt Romney answered a question honestly

White House Defends Tax Increases By Citing....Justin Bieber
For the sake of conservative humorists, one hopes that White House Press Secretary Jay Carney will never change. The man referred to by Rush Limbaugh as a “spokeskid” seem to be a never-ending fountain of gaffes second only to Joe Biden. Nevertheless, Carney may have inadvertently stumbled upon a reference that makes his point well by citing one of the more divisive pop stars in recent history as part of his defense of tax increases on the top 2 percent. That pop star is none other than Canadian sensation Justin Bieber.

The Brits Flub The Olympics
Between napping while watching the boring and left leaning Olympic opening ceremony last night I wondered who would light the Olympic torch. Have you ever seen a more wretched ceremony? I thought these things were supposed to be uplifting. What we got was a panorama of poverty and filth from the Industrial Revolution. It was horrid. Even so, the Brits could have ended the night on a good note with the lighting of the torch but they failed. Seven kids were given the honor. The greatest athlete in the history of England was on the sidelines. His name is Dr. Roger Bannister and he ran the first sub four minute mile in 1954; at the time considered almost super human. He's 91 now and a retired doctor. How sad the Brits couldn't have honored this man and shown the world an appreciation of a life well lived instead using a bunch of kids whose recognition of history dates to the most recent cartoon characters.

August 1 For Chick-fil-A
A hearty slap on the back to MJ Hawkeye. The day after the Leftists took out of context the words of Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy and tried to bring down the wrath of homosexuals on them I had laid out the ground work for a mass demonstration. August 1 is C Day, or if you prefer 'eat more chicken' day. It might have been the talented blogger Michelle Malkin who officially gave it the go ahead but, who knows, she may have logged onto this site and received the idea from 'moi'.
Here's the deal. Mr. Cathy stated that his company believes in the marriage of one man and one woman. In all seriousness, ho many right minded people think otherwise. Cathy didn't say, "If one fag marries another fag that's real bad for society". He didn't put up signs in his store fronts reading, 'no homos allowed'. The interesting and absurd thinking of the commie left in the US is their lack of tolerance for any of us who don't toe their stupid philosophical line. They want tolerance? For what? That anti-abortion people are out of the main stream. If we don't agree with them we're scum sucking dirt bags and have no right to speak. That those of us who like soft drinks should be able to drink to our hearts content but we're anti-whatever if we don't agree with them. So I like to smoke a cigar but that too is 'verboten'. Wait until I suck on my e-cigarette in a restaurant and some bleeding heart loser complains to the police. They emit a water mist; no smoke, no smell but I'll be booted because I'm not tolerant of their intolerance. I have an obligation to my children, grandchildren and heirs on down the line to not roll over every time these obnoxious dumbasses get a hair up their a** and demand that I do what they think is good for society.
I'll be in Naperville, Illinois on August 1 and I can guarantee I'll find a Chick-fil-A. I normally buy one of their originals but on that day I'll purchase two or more and tell the employees why. Join the club that day and stand up for conservative values.

Two Items Of Irritation
A couple of things that caught my ear in the past two days: 1) driving to Iowa from Minnesota yesterday the ABC, CBS radio stations were in a kerfullle about a faux pas Romney made in describing problems that may occur at the Olympics. Evidently, the Brits took offense. Trust me when I write in the scheme of things compared to 'Fast and Furious' and Solyndra is was nothing but a typical MSM piece of horse crap.
2, did you hear today that the government is going to initiate a program, much like Fannie and Freddie to force the banks to give to non-qualifier blacks and hispanics money for homes. Here we go again. I'm sure the article is in the America Spectator so give it a look see.

This Is A Race I Might Win
The Bix Run takes place in the Quad Cities USA as an annual event and runners come from all over the world to participate in this marathon. Since we used to live in Davenpart, a part of the Q-C's I'm always interested what happens there. Two impressions were made on me when I saw this picture: (1) God love and protect here and (2) this is a race I might be able to win.

On The Road Again
It's time to close up the lake cabin, again, until we return in September. For the next few days I'll be traveling to my original homestead in Boone, Iowa to visit Ma and then onto Naperville, Illinois for a golfing fraternity reunion until August 3. Keep checking in. Threre may be signigicant things being post but not much. Onward and upward conservative thinkers.

Semi-Automatic Vehicles Killed 7,630 Americans
That’s how many Americans were killed by automobiles in the US during the first quarter of 2012. That is 910 more in the first three months of 2012 than in the first three months of 2011. This tragedy is another grim reminder that cars are the enablers of mass killers and that our nation pays an unacceptable price for our failure to keep cars out of the hands of dangerous people.

Hooray For Actor Robert Duvall
While President Obama is usually the candidate rubbing elbows with Hollywood's celebrities — just this week it was announced the president's campaign would host fundraisers with the cast of "The Wire" and Vogue editor Anna Wintour — Mitt Romney is looking to cash in with some star power of his own.
Actor Robert Duvall, star of "Apocalypse Now" and "The Godfather," will host a fundraiser for the Republican presidential hopeful in September at his Virginia home.

Speaking Of Stupid
I think it's time to re-visit Hank Johnson and his appearance before the Armed Services Intelligence Committee. It was two years ago that this blundering nincompoop made an ass of himself to point that, and I quote from a doctor friend of mine, "This has to be a joke".
It's a YouTube without altering it's content. Johnson is a representative from DeKalb County east of Atlanta. The guy was an associate judge in an earlier life. I don't want to spoil the content of the video for you but it's Johnson's contention that by increasing the US presence on the island of Guam he's afraid the island might tip over. This is for real. Johnson's staff later said he was on medication and was unaware of what he was saying. The guy is an idiot. He has to be. There's a (D) after his name.

Michele Bachmann Is Right About The Muslim Brotherhood
Despite mounting evidence of close ties between the Muslim Brotherhood and Huma Abedin, Secretary of State Clinton’s close aide, Republican congressional leaders — particularly Senator John McCain and House Speaker John Boehner — continue to target their ire not at the State Department but at Representative Michele Bachmann.
Representative Bachmann is one of five House conservatives who have raised concerns about Muslim Brotherhood infiltration of our government. Glenn Beck reported Tuesday that GOP leadership is trying to extort an apology out of Bachmann by threatening to boot her from the House Intelligence Committee if she fails to submit.http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/312211/huma-abedin-s-muslim-brotherhood-ties-andrew-c-mccarthy
Do Yourself A Favor Today. Buy A Chick-fil-A
Do yourself a favor today and buy a Chick-fil-A original. They are the best out there. But, the Left hates them because their company president came out for marriage between a man and a woman. I knew when the franchise opened they were going to have a problem because they aren't open on Sunday. Their owners believe that day should be set aside for worship.
Now we see the intolerant Dumbocrats and Leftist communists coming out of the woodwork to lambaste these fine people for only following through on their beliefs. The mayor of Boston announced there would be no Chick-fil-A's in his city. A Chicago Alderman has stated there would be none in his district.
It strikes me that it's okay to pounce on right minded, civil folks for our beliefs as if we're out of the mainstream. For example, Defense Secretary, Leon Panetta has allowed gays in the Armed Forces to march in Gay Pride parades. Yet, chaplains in the Armed Forces, under threat of imprisonment , are not allowed to advocate their beliefs in abortion protests. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/u-s-military-silences-catholic-chaplains-from-speaking-out-against-obama-admin-ruling/ What is happening in this country?
Start your own protest. Inundate Chick-fil-A with business. If you don't have one in your area email corporate your support.
You'll have a delicious feeling in your tummy and a better feeling in your head.
CNN did the interview with Chick-fil-A, Dan Cathy. His response was:
“Guilty as charged,”, Cathy said when asked about his company’s support of the traditional family unit as opposed to gay marriage.
“We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that,” Cathy is quoted as saying.
Please not that Cathy made no reference to Gays or their sexual orientation. This is another media blitz of irresponsibility to set the liberal Left Wing agenda.

Obama Thanks "Gay-Porn Kingpin" For Organizing Campaign Fund Raiser
“I want to thank someone who put so much work into this event, Terry Bean,” President Obama said as the crowd began to cheer. “Give Terry a big round of applause.”
Terry Bean is, according to the New York Post, a “gay-porn kingpin.”
“ONE of the ‘bundlers’ who has raised $50,000 to $100,000 for the Barack Obama presidential campaign is Terrence Bean, who once controlled the biggest producer of gay porn in America,” the Post reported in 2008, during the president’s first run the office. “Bean, the first gay on Sen. Obama’s National Finance Committee, is the sole trustee of the Charles M. Holmes Foundation, which owned Falcon Studios, Jock Studios and Mustang Studios, the producers of about $10 million worth of all-male pornography a year.”

Sheriff Joe Arpaio Is Hot On The Trail
"Arizona’s Joe Arpaio, known as “America’s Toughest Sheriff” for his treatment of criminals, has been sued by the Obama Administration but is running for re-election this year. He may already have had the last laugh, as his investigators probing President Obama’s birth certificate have come up with sure-fire proof that the document has been tampered with. The evidence shows that the identification of Obama’s father as “African” was not on the original document".
I admonish you to read the entire article. It has more to do with Obama using a forged birth certificate. There are too many questions in this article not to be ignored. It poses a constitutional crises we have never seen before.

A Commie's Commie
By Herbert E. Meyer:
The Communist who's the subject of the stunning new biography by Paul Kengor is Frank Marshall Davis. He's the black poet, journalist, and activist whom the young Barack Obama hung out with as a teenager in Hawaii, then wrote a weird, disturbingly affectionate poem about entitled "Pop" while a student at Occidental College. He's the man whom President Obama describes as his mentor in the latter's autobiography, Dreams from My Father.
Here's Kengor's summary of the man our president so admires:
Frank Marshall Davis:
- Rejected and blasted Winston Churchill;
- Vilified and targeted General Motors;
- Advocated wealth redistribution from (in his words) greedy "corporations" to "health insurance" and "public works projects";
- Favored taxpayer funding of universal health care;
- Supported government stimulus and trumpeted the public sector over the private sector;
- Constantly bashed Wall Street;
- Dismissed traditional notions of American exceptionalism and framed American not as selflessly serving the post-World War II world but instead as selfishly flaunting its so-called "mountainous ego" and "racist-imperialist-colonialist" ambitions;
- Warned God-and-gun-clinging Americans about huckster preachers and instead sought the political support of the "social justice" Religious Left for various causes and campaigns;
- Perceived the Catholic Church as an obstacle to his vision for the state;
- Confidently declared certain government actions "constitutional" or "unconstitutional";
- Excoriated the "tentacles of big business," bankers, big oil, the "Big Boys," "excess profits," corporate fat cats and their "fat contracts," "millionaires" and "rich men," and the wealthy;
- Attacked "GOP" tax cuts that "spare the rich" and that only "benefit millionaires";
- Singled out the "corporation executive" for not paying his "fair" share;
- Used slogans such as "change" and "forward."

Fishing Has Its Moments
Just your average day-----if you happen to be Laurel and Hardy----going fishing. Never begin a story with the weather as a backdrop so my friend and I, with sunny blue skies, fluffy white clouds and temperatures in the 70's decided to launch his light weight, twelve foot long aluminum boat on Lake May near Walker, Minnesota. This was exciting for me because it was five years ago that I caught my 6 lb. 11 oz. large mouth bass on this body of water. A bass that size in Minnesota is comparable to a mastodon being captured anywhere. I'm the first to admit I'm not proficient at backing boat trailers into the water so I let the learned do it. My job is to unhook the boat from the trailer and hold a rope so the boat doesn't float away. Well, as it started to float away I jumped onto the trailer frame and immediately fell into the lake. That's alright. My sneakers weren't that new. Then in trying to get out of the water I banged my right shin against the metal frame of that darned trailer. That's okay. Even though I hit it directly on the bone and blood was oozing at four different spots I knew I'd live. It's just that at my age what used to heal in a week now takes six months. Our neighbor's dog at the lake bit me a month ago and the scarring is still there. When he was alive our neighbors called him Tiger. My friend reminded me to put some medicine on my wound so I wouldn't get the flesh eating disease. Continuing on, my buddy drove the car and trailer to a safe spot and I grabbed a rope and pulled the boat alongside the dock that was sitting in five feet of water.
We had our gear already in place and as my friend was situated in the craft I stepped onto a seat but slipped and my momentum pulled me to the side where THAT other fisherman was sitting. "Uh-Oh, the boat is starting to tip over", I yelled to no one in particular. As quickly as possible and in a horizontal position I laid out across the boat perpendicular to the stern or is it the aft? But it might be the port side. Regardless, the boat was all the way underneath the dock with the front end caught on the underside of the dock away from us. We were stuck. My friend had hit his rod entering said boat and it snapped like a dry twig. For what seemed like an hour we just laid there. Someone had to take action and it might as well be MJ Hawkeye so I did the only thing left to do; I slid backwards into Lake May while attempting futilely to free our piece of aluminum junk from its immovable position. Finally, with all the force my fat, buoyant body could muster it tore away from the dock and we were saved from a fate worse than death. Our next move was to start the process all over again and that was successfully accomplished except as I got out of the water I banged the same shin again..
My friend sometimes uses a 2 horse power motor. It's functional but can't pick 'em up and lay 'em down. In other words, it doesn't go very fast. As we left the shore we realized this public landing hadn't been dredged since the days of the Great Depression. Right away we were stuck in sand that was even with our motor prop.
Thank the Lord for a paddle. We successfully guided the boat to deeper water and we were off. In honor of this great bass trophy day I decided to use the same exact lure that Mr. Billy Bass jumped onto lo those five years ago and on the second cast it happened!
It became caught in a lily pad and just like that it was gone to Davey Jones locker never to be seen again.
We fished for an hour with worms, spinner baits, floating baits, deep diver rapalas. Our fish finder showed us that there were scads and scads of our finned friends below us but they never took the bait. We fished for another hour and as all determined fisherman are who haven't caught anything we decided on our next course of action. We bagged it. i.e. "Let's go home and say it never happened".
Oh, the first and last thing my friends said was, "whatever you do don't put this on your blog". Sorry, friend, but at least be thankful I didn't mention your name.

January Tax Increases: It Isn't Pretty
WASHINGTON (AP) — A standoff with Congress that results in the January expiration of wide-ranging tax cuts would mean 114 million families would see average tax increases of $1,600 next year, the White House says.

A Tale Of Two Cities
Courtesty of the Council Bluffs Cowboy:
It’s a tale of two cities.
First, Aurora, Colorado. The city is in the news.
It is not in the news for this. Here is a list of laws that the city has passed several years ago. The following are prohibited.
http://www.coloradoceasefire.org/munilaws.htm As Dr. Phil likes to say, “How’s that working for you?”
Disarmed, the movie theater’s patrons were defenseless.
The murderer broke this law: “Unlawful to discharge firearms, unless by law enforcement on duty or on shooting range.” I guess he will be prosecuted under this law.
The patrons, law-abiding all, were shot to pieces. None of the survivors will be prosecuted. They obeyed the law.
This is gun control in action.
In contrast, is Kennesaw, Georgia. It passed a law in 1982 requiring residents to own a handgun. Crime fell. It has stayed down.
Gaey DeMar writes:

Gaey DeMar writes:
I live just a few miles from the most pro-gun city in the United States – Kennesaw Georgia – where gun ownership is mandatory. It’s not the “Wild West” like some people predicted when it passed a mandatory gun ownership law. “The city of Kennesaw was selected by Family Circle magazine as one of the nation’s ‘10 best towns for families.’ The award was aimed at identifying the best communities nationally that combine big-city opportunities with suburban charm, a blend of affordable housing, good jobs, top-rated public schools, wide-open spaces, and less stress.”[1]
In 1982 the city passed the following ordinance [Sec 34-21] which was in response to a handgun ban in Morton Grove, Ill.(a) In order to provide for the emergency management of the city, and further in order to provide for and protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants, every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition therefore. The city’s website states that Kennesaw “has the lowest crime rate in Cobb County,” one of the most populace counties in Georgia. In fact, from 1982 through 2009, Kennesaw had been nearly murder free with one murder occurring in 2007.
(b) Exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who suffer a physical or mental disability which would prohibit them from using such a firearm. Further exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who are paupers or who conscientiously oppose maintaining firearms as a result of beliefs or religious doctrine, or persons convicted of a felony.

MSNBC Host Asks Shooting Victim How His Dead Sister Is Doing
NewsBusters has been for years exposing the breathtaking ignorance, incompetence, and unprofessionalism of the on air personalities associated with the so-called cable "news network" MSNBC.
On Monday, Michael Eric Dyson, filling in for Ed Schultz, actually asked the brother of one of the victims of Friday's shootings in Aurora, Colorado, how his dead sister is doing (video follows with transcript.

Obama To Veteran's: We Will Never Apologize To The World
Obama has been speaking to Veteran's groups lately. One of his lame speeches in front of them said that the United States will never apologize for our actions in the world. Thanks to The Heritage Foundation here are ten of his whoppers:

As Comedian Ron White Said, "You Can't Fix Stupid"
Playboy model Tricia Evans describes herself as an “actress and animal lover” and “controversial tweeter” on her Twitter page, but for many, her recent comments crossed a line.
On the same day as the horrifying shootings in Aurora, Colorado, where at least twelve people were killed and dozens more wounded during the “Dark Knight” premiere, Evans wrote: “I heard the new Batman movie is really ”to die for”! Too soon?”

"Alright, Knock It Off"
Many of you may not know this but I can track the most popular blogs put on this site. A year ago there was a picture posted with who was supposed to be the most beautiful woman in the world. For a trillion dollars I couldn't tell you your her name. This babe is named Miranda Kerr and she's a Victoria Secret model. There wasn't a special reason for giving her exposure but to put you to a test. Why is it the top five postings on my site have something to do with kinky stories and good looking women? Are you trying to tell me all these political stories are for naught. This ain't TMZ, folks. Let's start getting serious. She is a hotsie-totsie, though.

"Puttin' On The Ritz"
There's a whole lot of bad stuff going on in the world so I thought it'd be nice if you had the opportunity to snap your fingers and enjoy a YouTube with some kids from Russia, 2012 style. Ol' Joe Stalin would have probably sent these youngsters to Siberia. The way I figure, kids are kids wherever you go. It's us old-timers who screw things up. That's why when there's a war anyone over forty doesn't participate. Can you imagine having a war and only senior citizens could be in uniform. Hell, it'd be over in five minutes and the geezers would head out for the bar.

About Iraq. I Rest My Case
Was it only yesterday there was a blog from me about the nut job killers in the Middle East, specifically, Iraq? (Arabs Are Crazy). And don't let Obama get away with that garbage about bringing peace and stability to the region. As sad as is the Aurora massacre why do we continue to get our shorts in a bind when the US, except for Chicago, is the safest place on earth. Just yesterday Norway had a one year memorial for the 77 who were slaughtered by a murderer and that country has one of the strictest pieces of gun legislation in the world. Compared to the rest of the countries on this planet we live at Coney Island 24/7.
BAGHDAD – Bombings and shootings ripped across Iraq on Monday, killing at least 103 people in the deadliest day this year. The coordinated attacks in 13 cities sent a chilling warning that Al Qaeda is slowly resurging in the security vacuum created by a weak government in Baghdad and the departure of the U.S. military seven months ago.

This Is How We've Gained Respect In The World
President Obama trumpeted his foreign policy record on Monday, telling a convention of veterans that his administration has spearheaded a “new era of American leadership” that has made the U.S. “safer and stronger and more respected in the world.”
“Because we’re leading around the world, people have a new attitude toward America,” Obama told the Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Reno, Nevada. “There’s more confidence in our leadership. We see it everywhere we go.”

Obama's Enemies List
While President Nixon kept his Enemies list secret, Obama’s list is right out in the open and designed to inspire scorn, rebuke and retribution from his minions.
The truth is, anyone who runs as a Republican or donates to conservative causes can count on being targeted for intimidation by the organized left.
When did this become okay? When did it become okay for the President’s party to attack, insult, and slander private citizens for no other reason than they gave money to his opponent?
When did it become okay for a President to sic government agencies on private citizens who give to the “wrong” campaign?

All's Well That Ends In The Live Well
Now that my son and my two grandkiddies have returned to Ohio I can sit back and think about the fun they left at the lake. My oldest grandson, Oscar is almost 8. He's unique because he goes with the flow. Nothing seems to bother him. He can sit in a boat, never catch a fish but enjoy himself immensely by seeing the Loons or a passing eagle. He'll look at the clouds and remark, "doesn't that remind you of a frog, Grandpa"?
Genevieve, on the other hand is a non stop talker who knows everything about God's creation and her energy level knows no bounds. She's the one who told me last July 3 when I wished her happy birthday that she was glad she was five because she was tired of being four. When it comes to participating in anything she'll say, "I can do it. I can do it". Vieve is an excellent swimmer. She's a ballerina, a gymnast and in her mind she could climb Mt. Everest all by herself--without an oxygen tank.
She loves to go fishing and we did it twice a day. Ol' Grandpa made sure we went were the kiddies would catch something on every dropping of the worm in the water. Since we only had a dozen of the crawlers I told her we'd have to rip them in half. "I can do it. I can do it, Grandpa". From her standpoint every rock bass(non-edible and about six inches long) are worthy of the live well. "Can we keep it. Can we keep it, Grandpa"? "Yes, Vie, we can keep it but just to show Grandma when we get back to the cabin" And so we did but as soon as her prey were shown back they went into the lake.
Lucky Genevieve. On the last day she caught a keeper large mouth bass. "Can I clean it, Grandpa. Can I clean it"?
For me this was a trip down memory lane. When my daughter was eight she went to Girl Scout Camp. One of their experiences was to go out and find something they could eat if they happened to be lost in the wild. Well, all of the kids found berries and mushrooms. The normal stuff. Not Molly. She snagged a snake, killed it, cleaned it, cooked it and ate it in front of everyone. Her legacy, I'm sure lives on to this day and I bragged on her for months.
After docking the boat, with Vieve having the honor of carrying her trophy to the cleaning station, I showed her where to make the first cut. It's important, in my mind, to let the kid's know that God provides these creatures to man for our use. So, after that explanation I gave my woman-child the knife and let her make the first cut under the gills then I took over.
This event may seem like a small thing to many of you but what was created was a life memory. I hope I'm around long enough to have Genevieve relate to her children how she caught her first 'keeper'. Life is good.

How Does Obama Stay Above Water
Surprise is the beginning of wisdom, and President Obama and his campaign so far are deeply surprising. His presidency is a basket case, a failure with a capital F, and yet he is neck-and-neck with Romney. The only comparable failure since World War II was Jimmy Carter’s—and Carter, it’s true, gave Reagan a tough race in 1980. But Carter at least attracted a stiff primary challenge from Edward Kennedy. And voters were scared of Carter’s opponent (the terrifying extremist Ronald Reagan); they might not be inspired by Romney, but they are comfortable with him. Obama’s showing this year is a surprise from many angles.
The utter failure of this president is rank.

From The Washington Post, No Less
I came across an article written by Matt Patterson, writer for the San Francisco Examiner, New York Post and, of all newspapers, The Washington Post. Never, I doubt, has the WaPo had such an article published about a sitting president since the days of Nixon.
For the American people who've had enough of this person in the Oval Office I suggest you digest it all. For Obama lovers, please take note.

Years from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack
Obama as an inscrutable and disturbing phenomenon, the result of a
baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the
Middle Ages. How, they will wonder, did a man so devoid of
professional accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could
manage the world's largest economy, direct the world's most powerful
military, execute the world's most consequential job? Imagine a future
historian examining Obama's pre-presidential life: ushered into and
through the Ivy League despite unremarkable grades and test scores
along the way; a cushy non-job as a "community organizer"; a brief
career as a state legislator devoid of legislative achievement (and in
fact nearly devoid of his attention, so often did he vote "present");
and finally an unaccomplished single term in the United States Senate,
the entirety of which was devoted to his presidential ambitions.
He left no academic legacy in academia, authored no signature
legislation as a legislator. And then there is the matter of his
troubling associations: the white-hating, America-loathing preacher
who for decades served as Obama's "spiritual mentor"; a real-life,
actual terrorist who served as Obama's colleague and political
sponsor. It is easy to imagine a future historian looking at it all
and asking: how on Earth was such a man elected president?
Not content to wait for history, the incomparable Norman Podhoretz
addressed the question recently in the Wall Street Journal: To be
sure, no white candidate who had close associations with an outspoken
hater of America like Jeremiah Wright and an unrepentant terrorist
like Bill Ayers, would have lasted a single day. But because Mr.
Obama was black, and therefore entitled in the eyes of liberaldom to
have hung out with protesters against various American injustices,
even if they were a bit extreme, he was given a pass. Let that sink
in: Obama was given a pass - held to a lower standard - because of the
color of his skin.
Podhoretz continues: And in any case, what did such ancient
history matter when he was also so articulate and elegant and (as he
himself had said) "non-threatening," all of which gave him a fighting
chance to become the first black president and thereby to lay the
curse of racism to rest? Podhoretz puts his finger, I think, on the
animating pulse of the Obama phenomenon - affirmative action. Not in
the legal sense, of course. But certainly in the motivating sentiment
behind all affirmative action laws and regulations, which are designed
primarily to make white people, and especially white liberals, feel
good about themselves.
Unfortunately, minorities often suffer so that whites can pat
themselves on the back. Liberals routinely admit minorities to
schools for which they are not qualified, yet take no responsibility
for the inevitable poor performance and high drop-out rates which
follow. Liberals don't care if these minority students fail; liberals
aren't around to witness the emotional devastation and deflated
self-esteem resulting from the racist policy that is affirmative
action. Yes, racist. Holding someone to a separate standard merely
because of the color of his skin - that's affirmative action in a
nutshell, and if that isn't racism, then nothing is.
And that is what America did to Obama. True, Obama himself was
never troubled by his lack of achievements, but why would he be? As
many have noted, Obama was told he was good enough for Columbia
despite undistinguished grades at Occidental; he was told he was good
enough for the US Senate despite a mediocre record in Illinois; he was
told he was good enough to be president despite no record at all in
the Senate.. All his life, every step of the way, Obama was told he
was good enough for the next step, in spite of ample evidence to the
contrary.
What could this breed if not the sort of empty narcissism on
display every time Obama speaks? In 2008, many who agreed that he
lacked executive qualifications nonetheless raved about Obama's
oratory skills, intellect, and cool character. Those people -
conservatives included - ought now to be deeply embarrassed.
The man thinks and speaks in the hoariest of cliches, and that's
when he has his Teleprompters in front of him; when the prompter is
absent he can barely think or speak at all.
Not one original idea has ever issued from his mouth – it's all
warmed-over Marxism of the kind that has failed over and over again
for 100 years.
And what about his character? Obama is constantly blaming anything
and everything else for his troubles. Bush did it; it was bad luck; I
inherited this mess. It is embarrassing to see a president so willing
to advertise his own powerlessness, so comfortable with his own
incompetence.
But really, what were we to expect? The man has never been
responsible for anything, so how do we expect him to act responsibly?
In short: our president is a small and small-minded man, with
neither the temperament nor the intellect to handle his job.
When you understand that, and only when you understand that, will
the current erosion of liberty and prosperity make sense. It could not
have gone otherwise with such a man in the Oval Office.

Arabs Are Crazy
"LAHORE: Thousands of residents and shopkeepers of Misri Shah Main Market took to the streets against the alleged desecration of the holy Quran on Wednesday.
The residents of Katchupura, Misri Shah, said that two men had a quarrel, during which one of them, Shafiq, got emotional and allegedly tore up the holy book.
This sparked a massive protest, with people coming out of their homes to condemn the act. The protesters burnt tyres and strongly denounced the desecration of the holy Quran. They demanded an independent probe into the incident to bring the culprit to justice. An FIR has been lodged in this regard"
These people are insane. Think about it. Two guys get in an argument, allegedly, and stores are burned down and cars are overturned in some God forsaken 3rd world country because some towel head desecrated the Koran. What is it with these yahoos? Let's say I'm in, oh, I don't know, Storm Lake, Iowa. A police officer gives me a parking ticket. I don't like it and start an argument and, all of a sudden, get my Bible out of my glove compartment and tear it up. What do you think his response would be? What about the guy running the drug store, a ticket manager at the local theater? Would they come running out braining me with broom sticks? Know what I'd say if I saw a person doing the destruction, "WTF, it's your Bible". And the most important question would be, "when was the last time you saw an American with a Bible in their hands? When was the last time you carried around a Bible just to have one? Would it look like you were showing off?* A conversation might go like this: Erma: "Did you hear about MJ Hawkeye"? Gladys: "No, what"? Erma: "He carries a Bible with him" Gladys: "I always thought he was touched in the head". I can only remember seeing one person in real life carrying around a Bible** and that was when Clinton left a church on Easter Sunday on his way to do the nasty with Monica.
At present there are 44 Muslim nations at war with each other or another country. Every day in Iraq a Sunni drops a bomb on a Shiite or vice-versa and twenty or thirty people are killed. Why do we care? Let them go after each other. They hate us, anyway. We'll call it a war of attrition and be satisfied with the results..
* One of my best friends carries a Bible in his brief case but he does his scripture reading in privacy.
**I did see Burt Lancaster do it in the movie, Elmer Gantry, but that was only pretend.

Another New Record
There were 500 page views yesterday; an all-time record. If this keeps up I'll have to start demanding payment for my time.......On second thought. Thank you so very, very much. It was only two years ago I was pleased have 20 per day. And the beauty of it is I don't have very many family members.
Michelle Obama's Mirror
You're going to love this blog site. It's a satire on Queen Michelle and her 'supposed' blog. It's hilarious. Mark it on your favorites list. Here's an example of what you can expect as Moochie speaks to her people:
Just on the economic front alone it was an awesome week:
http://www.michellesmirror.com/2012/07/saturday-week-in-review.html
Just on the economic front alone it was an awesome week:
1. Weekly jobless claims shot up to 386,000.Plus, I see that unemployment rose in 27 of the 57 states last month. How can that be good for our team? We better get the spinners back in the game, because it might be time for a good story right about now.
2. Foreclosures are hitting our most vulnerable citizens.
3. Factory activity contracted for a second month in a row.
4. Home sales dropped a whopping 5.4% -- the biggest drop in nine months.
5. Retail sales dropped for the third straight month.
6. Consumer confidence dipped to 84.7.
7. U.S. business inventories increased by .3%...
8. …sales dropped .1%.
9. Food prices are skyrocketing. [I swear, if those peanut butter and mayonnaise jars get any smaller, Lady M’s going to have to order them by the case lot]
10. More Americans are getting federal disability than jobs

Movie Review: The Dark Knight Rises
I had read that Roger Ebert, lib movie critic, had blasted the final Batman movie of the trilogy because of it's violence and the fact that it leans to the Right. It figures. Here's the real scoop.
The bad guys, akin to SEIU, communists, LaRaza and the Occupy crowd take over Gotham City. They set up courts as one would find in the old Soviet Union and send the good guys to their deaths. In the end, after a lack of citizen coordination in fighting these clowns, the good guys who are actually like the TEA Party folks, police, good citizenry and God fearing people, kick the ever lovin' crap out of the bad guys. It's a feel good story from this angle. The Obama crowd have been trying to associate one of the bad guys, Bane, with Romney because his company had the same pronunciation. That doesn't fly.
It's about a two hour and forty-five minute journey into the very best action film I've ever seen. One of the best parts of the show is how, at the end, all loose angles of Batman and the series are tied together. Do not miss this film.

Two Aurora Shootings: One Known, The Other Ignored
On April 22 of this year a convicted felon, just out of jail, went to an Aurora, Colorado, church and shot and killed a member of the congregation before being killed himself by a congregant carrying a gun.

Why You Should Carry A Gun
As the news starting pouring in about what happened in the Aurora theater this week when Satan’s spawn James Holmes donned Kevlar and a small battery of weapons and opened fire on an unsuspecting crowd, I kept thinking, “One fast-thinking and trained person who was armed/licensed with a concealed weapon could have stopped that SOB right in his tracks before the body count skyrocketed.”

In Support Of Chick-fil-A
Dan Cathy, president of one of America's largest express fast food chains, has been frying more than chicken filets this week. The Chick-fil-A executive infuriated gay and lesbian groups when he again defended his company's anti-gay marriage position in an interview this week with a Christian news outlet.
"We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit," he said. "We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that."

Pat Sajak On Obama's "You Didn't Build That"
It's as if President Obama climbed into a tank, put on his helmet, talked about how his foray into Cambodia was seared in his memory, looked at his watch, misspelled "potato" and pardoned Richard Nixon all in the same day.

Kudos For Bob Costas And Good Riddance To The Arab States
(NYP) — Those calling for a moment of silence at next week’s Olympics to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 1972 Munich terrorist massacre of Israeli athlete-hostages have just picked up key support.
First, NBC’s lead Olympics anchor, Bob Costas, said he’ll publicly call out the International Olympics Committee for refusing the request.
And, Costas added, if the IOC fails to allow a moment of silence during next Friday’s opening ceremonies, he’ll hold one instead on NBC’s telecast as the Israeli team enters the arena.
“I intend to note that the IOC denied the request,” he said. “Many people find that denial more than puzzling, but insensitive, [so] here’s a minute of silence right now.”
Good for him.
Then, in the wake of Costas’ announcement, the White House joined in, saying, “We absolutely support the campaign.”
Eleven athletes and coaches were killed in a botched German attempt to rescue them from Palestinian terrorists.
Ankie Rekhess-Spitzer, widow of the slain fencing coach, has long sought an official commemoration of the tragedy.
She says the IOC called such a gesture “political” and “told us the Arab delegations will get up and leave. To which I said, ‘It’s OK; if they don’t understand what the Olympics are all about, let them leave.’”

"Redo My Picture, Please"
"Tonya Ann Fowler, of Commerce, Georgia called 911 after seeing herself on the cover of Bad & Busted, a local publication that compiles images of recent arrestees, and said she was unhappy with the photograph taken following a previous arrest".
What was her problem besides forgetting lip gloss and eye liner? Normally, I wouldn't put this online since it's sort of the same as placing photos of Wal-Mart folks on the blog which I refuse to do. I do make exceptions when I come across mug shots.
One can only surmise that a few years of drugs and alcohol have gone into her system.
The one thing that really struck me is that this woman is slightly older than my daughter who looks damned fine for her age. My Molly girl is 42 while Tonya Ann is 45. Sad!

Villisca Iowa Axe Murders
As much as I detest Wikipedia I'll use it in this case because it's like using Cliff Notes in college. Did you know there was a horrid event in the town of Villisca, Iowa whereby a mother, father, their four children and two neighbor kids were bludgeoned to death with an axe? Villisca is a community of 1,200 in southwest Iowa. You've never heard about this? Amazing to say the least. With all that's been going on in the country in the past few days one would think it would be on all the wires, the president would be speaking about it and the entire country would be reassessing it's values to see where we've gone wrong.
"The Villisca Axe Murders occurred during the night of June 9-10, in the southwestern Iowa town of Villisca. The six members of the Moore family and two house guests were found bludgeoned in the Moore residence. All eight victims, including six children, had severe head wounds from an axe. A lengthy investigation yielded several suspects, one of which was tried twice and acquitted. The crime remains unsolved".

The above paragraph is what's known as a teaser. The event took place in 1912. Silly me, I fashion myself as a historian especially when it comes to Iowa but until a month ago I'd never heard of the Villisca murders. I like to think I know something about the location of every community in the state along with a smattering of its history. I even know the location of Podunk Center. Yep! It is a real place.

The point is simple. With the murders in Aurora, Colorado we'll be subjected to endless governmental panels trying to tell us how we can eliminate violence in the country. There will be those who say we need to eliminate guns from our society just as has been done in Gt. Britain. Except, the crime rate in the Isles has skyrocketed since that ban was implemented. Actually, at the behest of Pres. Obama, a commission was begun yesterday. The result will be nothing. It's important to make the people believe the government and our elected officials care. I may be wrong and correct me if I am but I think there was a commission established to find out why Cain killed Abel.
We, all of us, should make book on how long this outcry over the violence in Aurora will last. Can you say 'Columbine'? The 24 hour news cycle runs the show and if elected officials don't show concern then the voting populace will take note.
The people who died in Aurora were the unlucky ones but they don't know how unlucky they were anymore. The sadness should go to their families: husbands, wives, children, relatives and anyone connected to the deceased and wounded.
Violence is the American way of life just as it is in Russia, China and the entire Muslim world. There was a period in this country from 1865-1890 called The Wild West. These people who lived in that era paved the way for the expansion of our country. It was a tumultuous period where many, many people lost their lives due to Manifest Destiny; our right to take what we deemed was ours in the way of land and conquest. Think not? Then how come there have been so many television shows and movies about the period that glorifies these events for such a short period of time.
Readers, I happened to be reading Ace of Spades HQ two days ago and there was a blurb about the millions of people who died in wars. There was a listing of the bloodiest wars and who started them. I'm talking millions and millions in each war. Check it out:
http://ai.mee.nu/historys_bloodiest_wars_and_who_to_blame You might note that the Chinese top the list.
Joe Stalin, the murdering thug from the old Soviet Union might have said it best about killing and murder: "One death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic".
What happened in Aurora was a tragedy. What happened in Villisca, Iowa in 1912 was a tragedy. Nothing will change on this planet until God has the final say so about what He desires.
As far as I can tell the Iowa legislature did nothing to ban the sale of axes after the Villisca murders.
Footnote: How would you like to spend a week-end in Chicago especially on the South Side. That's where our current president got his start as a community organizer. Call me crazy but I think one job of a CO is to bring peace and harmony to his community.
Chicago is the murder capital of the United States. Chicago averages over 40 murders a month. Chicago is a cesspool yet I don't find anywhere in the media, except maybe for the Chicago Tribune, that we're hearing much about the mayhem.

Middle Class Tax Lie: Each Middle Class Family Will Pay 15K Per Year
When he was asking for our vote in 2008, then candidate Barack
Obama famously promised the American people, “I can make a firm pledge. Under my
plan no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax
increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains
taxes, not any of your taxes.” But as the Supreme Court has now authoritatively
ruled, the Obamacare individual mandate, requiring workers to purchase the
health insurance the government specifies each family must buy, is a tax. The CBO estimtes that the Obama health care law will cost each family $15,000 per year in new taxes. http://www.forbes.com/sites/peterferrara/2012/07/19/obama-promised-he-wouldnt-raise-taxes-on-the-middle-class-he-lied/ |
