A Gov't Bill Close To My Heart

As you know I've always been a huge believer in cursive writing. As a child in the Catholic school we were taught the Palmer Method. The nuns place the cursive alphabet on cards across the blackboard in the front of the room. I've always felt cursive writing was an expression of one's personality. Texting has become the bane of self-expression.

It appears the State of Ohio has taken the proverbial bull by the horns and is doing something to rectify the lack of cursive training in our schools. Hooray!

A vote was rumored for Tuesday in the Ohio House on a bill requiring cursive handwriting be taught in elementary schools.
Republican Reps. Andrew Brenner and Marilyn Slaby have proposed the legislation, which would again make cursive instruction mandatory between kindergarten and fifth grade. Thirteen representatives have signed on as co-sponsors.
