Is there anyone not familiar with the story of the GM of the Houston Rockets NBA team, Daryl Morey? He tweeted support for the Hong Kong freedom fighters. What a moron. The head of the NBA chastised him for his words against communist China. Why would a guy tweet words against a country who has murdered over 60 million people and has 10 million in gulags today? He should be ashamed.
Donald Trump did sort of an obnoxious thing. He tweeted congratulations on their 70 years of existence. Both of these organizations, Trump and the NBA, have one thing in common. It's the economics of it. China, the communist kind, spends millions on NBA gear and the games, especially the Houston Rockets, are carried live in the country.
There was an exhibition NBA game held in Philly last night. A few people, not many, were kicked out because they had the gall to hold signs reading, "Free Hong Kong". If they were smart the signs would have read, "Free Hong Kong'(s)--------LGBQT". Problem solved. Last year the state of North Carolina passed a law outlawing shared bathrooms for men and women. The NBA in it's infinite wisdom canceled the NBA All-Star game from being played in Charlotte. It seems to me the NBA has some splainin' to do about their social philosophy.
Former Chicago mayor and Clinton acolyte, Rahm Emmanuel had it right. "It's the economy stupid".
Freedom and civil rights be damned.
It should be noted I haven't watched an NBA game in ten years and that's only because a guy gave me tickets.
The two most important things in the world are $$$ and sports and they go hand in hand.
