It's an old saying, "Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer you get to the end the faster it goes." I saw an obituary notice the other day announcing the passing of Melinda Dillon at age 83 and I went, "Say what?" If you don't recall the name think Ralphie's mom in The Christmas Story. Then recall the leading actress in 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind'.
It seems only yesterday this woman was young and perky but, then again, every Christmas season when the show comes on she always looks the same.
