In my lifetime as I look back on the worst of the worst pieces of legislation to come down the pike I always hearken back to Lyndon Johnson's 'War on Poverty'. It was anything but. What it was, and this is usually the case with political legislation (Can you say elimination of college tuition costs?) was a ploy to gain votes.
As an example, In 1964, around 4% of American children were born to unwed mothers. By 2021, this percentage increased a full ten times to 40%.
The ramifications of Johnson's presidency will haunt us forever. again. https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2023/07/the_war_on_poverty_hasnt_just_failed_its_failed_abysmally.html
