I'd Rather Be With Oscar

Given the choice of spending the day with my seven year old grandson or working on the blog there was only one conclusion; be with the Big O. He is so funny. I've never seen Oscar have a bad day. In order, we hit golf balls. One every eight goes fifty yards and for him it's as good as any drive Tiger ever made. Lunch at Chick fil-A was a treat. His other grandpa takes him to lunch every day and since he'd never been to this place I came out on top.. After lunch it was on to Target where we bought a checkers set. Back to the house to open up the games and play checkers. I lost and wasn't trying to. He did learn to play Chinese checkers, too. It's fun teaching kids new things. Lizzie then took him to the neighborhood pool. Since Oscar doesn't come over often he gets about whatever he wants so dinner consisted of pepperoni pizza and a smores pie from Papa Murphy. Luckily, Grandpa MJ went out and purchased some night crawlers so we have another activity to do this evening. Our foray into fishing will go something like this: one dozen worms @ $4.00. I'll cast the jig into the pond. Oscar will grab said pole and flip it back and forth then say, "Can we do something else". So we'll go exploring around the pond looking for special rocks. Then we'll go down to the gazebo that sets about the water. Bluegills gather by the shore so we'll spit in the water, watch them think it's food and go after the spittle and we'll laugh. This is much more fun that watching a bobber. I'll have used one crawler and throw the rest away but it's no big thing. After awhile we'll come home and dink around until it's time for bed. This isn't a very special blog but Oscar is and if you happen to be disappointed in today's work too bad for you.
