Prior to Rutgers and the Univ. of Maryland becoming members of the Big Ten Conference another school was under consideration. It was the Univ. of Missouri. This makes sense due to its geographic location.
The Big Ten, under further consideration, denied the school admission. Why? Their academic standards were too low.
After what has transpired in the last few days we all understand.
