You might have heard, but the Chicago Cubs don't make the World Series often, so prices for tickets to games 3, 4, and 5 at Wrigley Field are through the roof.
The fervor is so intense that the price to merely be close to Wrigley Field is becoming prohibitive.
Some bars in Wrigleyville — the bar and restaurant littered area around the ballpark — are charging as much as $1,500 to reserve a four-person table for this weekend's games. That's $250 a per person cover (which "includes admission, drinks, 1 app, and 1 entree") and $500 for reserving the table at Casey Moran's — which is a Kris Bryant homer's distance away from the ballpark
They're not alone in their four-figure asks — Deuce's is asking for the same $250 cover and $500 for a table and Old Crow Barbeque is going to save you $25 on that cover charge.
John Barleycorn, the Wrigleyville mainstay, is also using the $250/$500 pricing (suspicious...) and they have already sold out of tables for Saturday night's Game 4.
Cubby Bear, the famous sports bar across the street from the front entrance to Wrigley Field, is only charging $100 to watch Games 3, 4, and 5 there.
