When It Comes To Elections This Has To Be The 'Year Of The Dog'

Okay, it's a given. Trump and Hillary are dog candidates. They're pitiful. Be honest with yourselves, all of you. Don't you wish we could have a do over? I'm willing to wager most all of us, me included, because of the great divide in political views are more inclined to vote party ticket rather than look at the individuals running for a particular office. I've reached that point. It's not who's the better candidate but who is the lesser of two evils and this runs from the national level all the way down to burgs like Boone, Iowa

Case in point. As my consistent readers are aware I reside in Dublin, Ohio which is located in Franklin County. The largest city in the state is Columbus, Ohio and it takes up the bulk of Franklin County. It's population hovers around 650,000 souls. Franklin County, itself, is made of up 1.2 million breathing humans. It's larger than Mayberry and there are challenges to be met for any political office when dealing with the size and population of the area.

I present for your disapproval the two candidates running for County Treasurer:

The fella on the right, the Republican candidate, is named Ted Berry. He's a prof at The Ohio State University--or was, anyway. I'm quoting from the Columbus Dispatch on his bio:

"An internal investigation at Ohio State determined that Berry, 47, violated university policy when he listed his university position in campaign materials and conducted both campaign and city council business during work hours. The report determined that Berry had spent about six hours conducting that business on the phone while he was supposed to be working.
At the time, Berry was director of business development for the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center. He resigned in early 2014, shortly after being placed on administrative leave".
Yet, Berry is the nominee of his Party.
But wait, it gets even bettor, or worse, depending on your perspective. It's time to meet the Democrat running for the position. She's a pip. Her name is Shery Brooks Sullivan. Her biography is one John Dillinger and Dr. Timothy Leary would be proud to own:

"Sullivan, 59, has filed for bankruptcy three times and was convicted of passing a bad check and purchasing cocaine nearly 20 years ago.
Sullivan was sentenced to six months in jail in 1999 after violating probation in the cocaine case and 31 days in jail for passing the bad check in Florida. She said her bankruptcies were the result of multiple failed marriages.
She filed for bankruptcy twice in Florida in 1996 and again in Ohio in 2011. In her most recent bankruptcy, Sullivan had more than $52,000 in debt, including $11,000 in taxes owed to the Internal Revenue Service"

In conclusion it behooves me to let you in on the job description for the Franklin County Office of Treasurer:

"The treasurer is the county’s cash manager. Treasurers collect taxes and make deposits. They also manage county investments, which range between $625 million and $1 billion during tax collection periods in Franklin County".

There you have it in as concise terms as I can present. The way I figure this clown and the clownette have all the qualifications to be President of the United States. What the heck, they still have write-in ballots, don't they?
