Slaughter In Afghanistan

The big news on the wires this morning concerns a US soldier in Afghanistan who apparently went berserk, going from house to house, murdering 16 civilians. Drudge said he may have been drunk. This is not good. Rioting will run rampant and the US will be vilified. We have already apologized for this occurrence. I would like to make a parallel point, however, without justifying what this soldier did. How many of you remember the Ft. Hood Massacre just outside of Killeen, Texas? How many of you recall the name of the person who murdered 13 American soldiers and wounded 32 others? How many of you remember American citizens 'wilding' immediately after the slaughter? Well, murderer is Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim psychiatrist who was in the US Armed Forces at Ft Hood. Immediately after our slaughter you did not find the words, terrorist, Muslim, or Allah coming from the commander at Hood or from our White House. As a matter of fact the American people were told to "not jump to conclusions until all the facts were in".
One of my high school classmates, Big Swede, is a doctor and was called in to work on the wounded at Ft. Hood. Every so often I email him and ask, "What's going on with the Hasan case? His response, in disgust, is that the lawyers keep putting things off; stringing the trial off as long as possible. Nuff said.
