I'm a huge Iowa State Cyclone fan. Ever heard of them? You should. Their home court of Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa is considered one of the most difficult courts for visitors. The moniker, 'Hilton Magic' has been applied to the many upsets they've pulled off in recent years.
This afternoon I witness Gonzaga University knock off Duke University. This is amazing to me considering sportswriters, pundits, and the learned have told us Duke is the best basketball team to ever play the game---ever!
I'm happy they lost. I used to be a huge Duke fan. 'Used to be' is the operative phrase. When the Duke Lacrosse team was accused of rape against a known slut and the entire university came out in support of her(who since murdered a boyfriend) they are on my crap list and rightly so. The boys had their live ruined when it was proven the DA was a crook.
As it is I'll be for the underdog. The biggies in college basketball, and it will soon be borne out, are fraught with corruption.
As Jerry Tarkanian, once the head coach of the University of Las Vegas once said about corruption in the NCAA, They were so upset with North Carolina cheating they put Cleveland State on probation for three years.
