Do You Remember The Silicon Breast Implant Lawsuits

I don't remember how many years ago the Dow Corning breast implant lawsuit took place. What I do know is the day the courts ruled for women who had their implants burst saw me at their main silicon facility in Freeland, Michigan.

And, no, I wasn't there to get my boobs fixed so get your mind out of the gutter. It happened that I was a salesman for a company dealing with equipment to keep the silicon machines up and running.

I saw an article in USA Today this morning reminding me of my visit to the plant.

"Materials maker Dow Chemical plans to shed 2,500 jobs after acquiring full ownership of joint-venture Dow Corning.
Midland, Mich.-based Dow — which recently finished its acquisition of the 50% of silicon manufacturer Dow Corning it did not previously hold — said Tuesday that the cuts will require a charge of about $410 million to $460 million in the second quarter"

Naturally, being a man and interested in the female breast, I asked the plant manager what impact this multi-million dollar lawsuit would have on the company. His response was something like this: "Not a bit", he said, "we make millions more off of fake testicles than we do breast implants".

You might be as amazed as I about this revelation. The manager told me there were millions of men who had lost a testicle to cancer than there were women who needed a boob job. If you'll still wondering why men need to have the proper balance to even things out. I'd never thought about that before.

The only other story I'd heard on this subject concerned a guy who had is testicles replaced with Spanish onions. But that's another story for another time.
