The State Of The Union 11/8/16

The polls will be closed in a an hour or two depending on your state of residence so what I write makes no difference in changing people's minds.

It would be magnificent if a liberal commented on this particular piece but since most of my readers are conservatives and the others, seemingly, only log on to look at the cartoons I'm not expecting much.

Maybe I'm too old and too set in my ways but I was wondering why, in this modern day climate, anyone would vote Democrat. Most folks only vote for their own self-aggrandizement, anyway.

My calculations of the major issues in our nation, foreign and domestic are these:

Public School Education: It's horrendous. The teacher's unions are only concerned with achieving higher pay, greater benefits without regard for the product going out on the streets. We need to attack the problems of education where the root problem lies, in the inner cities. Those places are war zones and the students are learning nothing.

Income Inequality: There is a serious gap in pay between the upper, middle and lower classes. The purchasing power of the middle class, the most important segment of American society is and has been stagnant for the past eight years. One would have to go back to the 1930's to find the same scenario.

Unemployment: The government under Obama tells us the unemployment rate is at 4.9%. That's hocus pocus. The truth is it's closer to 12%. If you don't believe me you can do as Casey Stengal said, "Look it up". If it is 4.9% why are there 94 million Americans out of work who have stopped looking? For Black males between the ages of 18-25 it's at 50% and these were the guys who elected Obama to help make their lives better. Maybe, at the time, they didn't realize the only news governing them today would be the over 600 murdered in Chicago to date.

Conflicts in the Middle East: It's a quagmire. There is no end in site because this administration didn't want to destroy ISIS. Think not. Then why haven't they?

The National Debt: It is now at $22 trillion dollars. Obama has increased our debt greater in eight years than the other 43 presidents combined. Thank God it isn't coming out of your pocket. Oops, my bad! What would happen if I decided I wanted a new Mercedes and put down two grand then never paid another dime. Do you actually believe so nice person would come along to bail me out? Get real.

Illegal immigration is overwhelming this country: Hillary stated(wikileaks) she want us to be a country without borders to a group of South American financiers. It's easy for her to say. She has expensive digs in Chappaqua. The rest of us will need to pony up the money to pay for these people. For every Syrian refugee who comes to America the cost of their maintenance, via welfare, is $60,000 a year so stuff that in your hat Democrats.

What does it take to make people sick and tired of this nonsense. If Hillary wins it's more of the same. If Trump wins we have a chance of turning around this mess.
