Maybe Snowflakes Should Put Out A List Of What IS Acceptable
More than 200 George Washington University students have signed a petition calling on the school to adopt a new mascot and nickname, saying the current "Colonials" moniker "has too deep a connection to colonization."
The mascot was adopted in 1926 to honor the school's namesake, George Washington, and is intended as a reference to Colonial America, but opponents argue that it "glorifies the act of systemic oppression."
