In 2010, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) advocated on the Senate floor for ending the process known as “chain migration,” whereby newly naturalized citizens can bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the U.S., a term that he now claims insinuates racism.
Durbin, though, is now attacking Trump for popularizing the term “chain migration,” claiming the technical immigration term that he has previously used is offensive to African-Americans, as Breitbart News reported:

I have to cut Durbin some some slack. He's 5'5" in length. I've caught fish longer than this. He's the size on an Oompaloompa. It's no wonder he has a Napoleonic complex. Wouldn't it be great to attend one of his his high school reunions and find out if he was a flaming jerk? That was the nature of this conversation. When it came to the issue of, quote, “chain migration,” I said to the president, do you realize how painful that term is to so many people? African-Americans believe they migrated to America in chains and when you talk about chain migration, it hurts them personally.
