A Canadian journalist has created outrage on social media over her comments on last weekend’s tragic collision in Saskatchewan that killed 15 members of a junior hockey league team. “Happy socialist” Nora Loreto, who has written for Macleans magazine and the Globe and Mail, suggested that the national grieving was influence by “maleness” and “whiteness.”
“I’m trying to not get cynical about what is a totally devastating tragedy but the maleness, the youthfulness and the whiteness of the victims are, of course, playing a significant role.”
