Why Politicians Are Detestable? Look At Ohio

The State of Ohio will have it's primary on May 8 to determine the Democrat and Republican candidates in the November election.

I've always felt life would be much better if the campaigning started a month before the general election. Money would be save by the millions. One can't watch television or listen to the radio without being bombarded with lies.

I live in Ohio's 12th congressional district. It's been solid Republican since Abe Lincoln. We have nine candidates running for one position.  A month ago I attended a two hour  meet the candidates debate.  Three weeks later I received a phone call and for a stupid reason I answered it. I knew what it was political my phone read, elector call. The question posed to me was, "who of the nine candidates would I vote for". It was an easy answer. "Throw 'em all in a barrel and pick one out. They're all the same". CLICK!

I thought everyone would be running away from Donald Trump. Not So. All of these people have the same mantra, 'Conservative, Pro-life, Pro-gun, Build the Wall'.

I have only seen one ad for a Democrat and that's Richard Cordray for governor. He worked in the Obama administration and uses a verbal endorsement from the worst president in the history of this country. Not once have I ever heard a Democrat announce, "I'm a staunch liberal". Sherrod Brown, known socialist, is up for re-election in the Senate. I'd throw a block party if he took it on the chin.

I have one huge, bigger than huge gripe against the two Republican candidates running for Ohio governor. Mike DeWine, now Secretary of State is running for the job. He's the perfect political animal; self-serving. The Columbus Dispatch ran a article on him that made my hair start on fire. In 2006 he had a gross adjusted income of $600,000. But, yet, he's in the 17% tax bracket. Yours truly and his spouse have a combined gross adjusted income of $100K. But, we happen to be in the 25% tax bracket.
Mr. DeWine gave a grand total of $9,000 to charity. What a putz!

There's one other aspect of DeWine's life that should put him to shame. Why is it all pols have to bring up a tragedy in their lives to have us give sympathy? One of their daughters died in a car accident ten years ago. Oh, and that's supposed to make me vote for them? I had a grandson die at birth. It was horrible but I don't running around telling people about it. E.g. "Officer, please don't give me that ticket. My grandson died ten years ago"

DeWine's opponent is the now Lt. Governor, Mary Taylor. The Dispatch ran an in-depth on on her. She had a gross adjusted income in '16 of $100K, the same as we, but she's in the 17% tax bracket. In addition, Ms. Taylor donated $200.00 paltry measly dollars to charity. What the hell! I can spend that much in a nice restaurant in one night.

There's a reason why politicians have a 6% respectability rating. Just look at Ohio.
