Enough is enough. A week ago Friday I slipped on the top of a step on our second level condo and kerlunked my way to the bottom. It was only 7 steps and carpeted, but try and explain that to my bloodied hip and destroyed ribs. Accepting pain is not my forte'.
In the course of eight days I knew my ribs were on the way to healing. Last evening a sneeze bigger than the dropping of the Atom bomb on Hiroshima came out of my mouth, nose, whatever. The pain was excruciating and I'm back to where I was a week ago; sleeping standing up.
I am going to what's called Urgent Care this morning. That name is a misnomer because obviously it wasn't all that urgent a week ago. And with broken or bruised ribs I wouldn't know the cure except for waiting it out.
If I lived on the East or West Coast, in the offices of NBC or on any college campus except Hillsdale I'd be considered an outcast because I'm politically incorrect. I'm a midwestern boy. We can be politically incorrect AND respectful of women at the same time. I feel badly for non-midwesterners.
When I arrive at Urgent Care there will be a women receptionist. When I first meet a women who I do not know(except when they come into my home or are friends of the Queen) I most always say, 'Hi Lady' or 'Hi Darlin'. Know what? They aren't offended and in many cases they like it. I began doing this around 15 years ago. Never once have I been admonished in public or private.
You don't suppose the PC stuff is a bunch of made up crap by troublemakers, do you? I didn't think so.
