I watched and listened to LA Clippers head basketball coach, Doc Rivers, talk about Jacob Blake the shooting in Kenosha. He was very emotional and said he was close to tears thinking about Mr. Blake, the sexual predator, who is now paralyzed after being shot numerous times. "Blacks aren't safe anywhere", Rivers stated. Maybe it's idle time but every now and then I'll think about my teachers growing up in Boone, Iowa. Overall, I was blessed with not only good ones but some great ones. Of course, it was the 1950's and 1960's and it was a different time.
From kindergarten, Miss Peak at Bryant school, who even today was the best looking one of all all the way to being seniors I can run down the list. I went to Sacred Heart up to the 8th grade. To this day I can recall snippets of instances that occurred with each. If I got in a jam it was my fault, except for my 6th grade nun, Sr. Mary Louis Joseph. I'm convinced she detested children. Other than that they were dandies.
I started 9th grade in 1960. Going from a class of 30 to one of 200 was scary to a little kid. Most of my teachers, the males, were somewhat older and most had been involved in WWII. Once in awhile they referenced the war but not often. I'm guessing those who'd been there didn't talk about it. Mr. Hershey was my 9th grade English instructor. I don't remember one thing about the class. I do remember when he spoke it sounded exactly like Buddy Hackett.
I hate math of any kind. I just couldn't get it. Algebra was misery. Vaughn Thornburg was 143 years old. She was tough. One day she called me to her desk after class and accused me of cheating. "How could I cheat," I said. "I got a C- on the test." The answer was I always enjoyed trying to print or write in different styles. She didn't understand so I had to show her. Besides, how could a 14 year old cheat on something like this: x-y+ 2-10 equals?
About math of any kind: I'd learned to add, subract, multiply and divide quickly. It's not like I planned on being an aeronautical engineer in life. I can add numbers in a nanosecond if I have to. When I was a teacher I'd do this for my students. They were amazed. That's when I knew math skills were overrated.
My US History teacher was Mr. Carroll. I was crazy about him but also fearful. In the first place I had a crush on his daughter, Jan. She was beautiful but went out with a guy who drove a fancy car and had a lot of money. Anyway, I was in the coaches office my junior year after coming out of the shower with a towel wrapped around me. Mr. Carroll had the same. I looked down at is waist and noticed what looked like a big hole healed over. I asked how he got that. He told me he was a tail gunner in the big war and was shot. I'll never forget that.

Know what? I never heard any of my teachers or coaches utter one obscenity, not even a damn or hell. It surely was a different time but it was a good time.
I did think it was sort of weird the kid who was arrested for the murder of the Antifa guy, the one who said, "Go ahead and shoot me" right before he was shot was running around with an AR-15. What I didn't know was Wisconsin has no conceal carry laws. If one looks at videos before the shooting you'll see the seventeen calmly explaining to an interviewer why he was in town. Curtis Dunn was the tractor-trailer driver involved in the December 1972 accident that took the life of the newly-elected U.S. Senator’s first wife, Neilia Biden, and 13-month-old daughter, Naomi.
The facts are that Joe Biden’s wife accidentally drove into the path of the tractor-trailer. She was killed, along with their baby daughter. His two sons were seriously injured.
For decades, Joe Biden lied about the cause of the accident(usually around election time) as he exploited the accident to promote his candidacy. He shamefully changed the details of the story, claiming the driver was drunk and responsible for the accident.

A Baltimore County, Md., fifth-grader got a visit from the police after his teacher called to report that she had seen a BB gun on the wall behind the student during a class video call.

Periods may be coming to a full stop.
While older texters may consider the period an innocent symbol that a sentence has ended, digital natives consider it a triggering form of aggression. The punctuation problem ignited over social media recently, with Gen Z and millennials agreeing that ending a sentence with a period is overly hostile and, worse yet, extremely uncool.
“Only old people or troubled souls put periods at the end of every sentence,” wrote digital culture journalist Victoria Turk in her book on digital etiquette, “Kill Reply All.”

She has pretty much shut down her state, excpet when it involves activities for herself and family. She made a name for herself, and not a good one, when last week at the DNC convention while standing at a podium, a hot mic caught her saying, "It's shark week, motherf**kers.**
Whitmer is also the only governor who has Big Ten teams in her state who wanted the sport shut down. We've now learned that all Big Ten athletic directors wanted to play. The commissioner, Kevin Warren, of the conference said 'No'. "Let it be written. Let it be done". I do find a conflict of interest in the commissioners dictates. His son plays in for Mississippi State in the Southeast Conference. If he is worried about boys dying doesn't he care about his own kid? Or, maybe he has another motive. Last week when Warren decided there would be no football he wrote a letter to justify his beliefs. In it he spent a great deal of time writing about Black Lives Matter. I don't get it. Or, maybe I do.
Over to the west in Minnesota Sen. Am Klobuchar said the same about football. What these two females must not understand is college football is America. It's the flag and apple pie.
In Michigan football is a really big deal but by voting to eliminate it you've shut down any hope of Michigan State and the Univ. of Michigan to strut their stuff. Many democrats in the the Wolverine state are not going to jump on board with the governor.
This action on the part of these pols has to be political since I've know few women who have ever put on shoulder pads and a helmet.
Politically, this is not too smart.
**I'm willing to wager I've heard the word MF's more in the last six months than at any time in my life. I've heard it by politicians, people on the street and by hundreds when I watch You Tubes of rioting.
I'm biased on this subject buy I rarely, if ever, hear it said by people on the right. It's most often said by folks screaming in anger and some perceived threat. "No justice, no peace" comes to mind.

Joe Biden cited a quote made famous by Chinese communist dictator Mao Zedong during a digital fundraising speech with former Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett.
"We’ve got to get real economic relief into women’s hands now,” Biden said on Monday evening to the 14 wealthy donors who attended the digital fundraising session.
According to the pool reporter who watched the event, Biden then cited the Chinese proverb, "Women hold up half the sky."
The phrase comes from a proclamation by Mao in the mid-20th century that helped grant certain rights to women in China.

One of my former high school baseball players from the 1980's immediately got on Facebook following the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha. The young man quickly chastized the police for shooting Blake in the back seven times. Being his former mentor I got back to him(we communicate often) and suggested he might tone it down until we know all the facts. "But he was shot in the back", he said.
He was shot in the back I'll admit but let's let it play out. Sadly, the uber liberal governor of Wisconsin came out against the police. The mayor, a democrat, came out against the police. It took almost no time for the rioting and burning to begin. Why, it's almost as if there were orgaznized groups of haters who could be in attendance on a moments notice.
I went to You Tube last night to look at some of the damage to this city of 100,000 located directly north of the Illinois border. It's devasting. The downtown was, once again ravaged. A car dealership saw 100 of its vehicles go up in flames. Why? What was gained?
Why is it when these anarchists loot and burn they seemingly never go after grocery stores, Payless shoes, clothing stores for young children, welfare buildings?
No, they hit the high end places of business. They're going after the man. Kenosha illustrates that all of America is under attack; not Chicago, Portland, Seattle and the other major cities. The criminals are coming after the common man.
