Whale Barf Equals Big Cash

Most of us probably would’ve walked past the waxy-looking brown chunk on the beach, but 8-year-old Charlie Naysmith was curious enough to check it out. That oddly shaped ball was ambergris — essentially a wad of whale vomit — and it’s worth an estimated $63,000. Ambergris is “quite rare,” according to marine biologists, It originates in the intestines of sperm whales; this particular 1.5-pound piece of puke might’ve been “floating in the sea for decades.” The British schoolboy is obviously thrilled with his find, as are his parents, who might be off the hook for, say, his college tuition. Naysmith has considered using the cash to “build a house for animals.” That’s so cute, now WE want to throw up. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/9893744.Schoolboy_s_rich_after_finding_Moby_s_sick/
