I taught in two schools that followed this curriculum. It was a three ring circus. In one of the schools, a Catholic high school, the religion department had a wonderful class called, "Social Justice". The instructor was perfect for the position; wore sandals, jeans and a T-shirt to class. It had one of those tie-dyed peace symbols on the front. He told the kids they should go home and tell their parent's they should give all their wealth to the poor. He's probably still there. It was in 1988. Considering tuition was five grand a year I wonder how mom and dad could afford to send their kids to school if they were living in a tent; sort of like OWS is today. Now what was it he said all the time? Oh yeah, I remember, "If you want peace work for justice". My idea of justice for him would've been triple toilet swirley.
