Obama Kick-Off Campaign Begins At Ohio State. It's A Bust
Don't believe the hype from the press about Obama and the start of his 2012 campaign. Promoters of the event told the world that 14,000 attended the event at the Schottenstein Center on the campus of The Ohio State University. From the photo it's more likely that half of a sellout showed. These same people asked the crowd to move down to the main floor and mass together. Gotta make it look good for the Boss and give Brian Williams a story. I've been to the Schott probably twenty times to watch college basketball. This year I saw the Buckeyes play Florida State. The place was sold out; all 20,000 seats. I also had the privilege of seeing the Bucks play the University of They Suck. 18,000 showed for that contest. The only reason I went was because my buddy had tickets and couldn't beg anyone else to go with him. I was trying to think what was going on in Columbus today that would keep the people away from Obama's extraganza magical mystery tour*. Since it was a Saturday students didn't have classes but maybe, just maybe, they were hung over from last night. There was a marathon race downtown but that was over by noon. You can kiss that excuse good-bye. It did drizzle all morning and our Costco parking lot was full. Yes, that's it. Costco had Starbucks on sale for $5 off list.
*Apologies to the Beatles
