Chicago Keeps #1 Position
Chicago’s homicide numbers this year are the worst they has been since the 1990’s.
Data recorded by the Chicago Police Department and The Chicago Tribune show that there have been at least 102 homicides this year, 95 of them murders. The incredible murder rate is the highest for this time of year in Chicago since 1997.

I first became aware of Adam Corolla when he co-hosted a TV show with Jimmy Kimmel called 'The Man Show'. It was ground breaking---kind of.

I came across a YouTube of Corolla explaining who not to vote for. Happily, the first type of person mentioned was one I've been castigating for years. It's those people(Hillary constantly) who tell us they're going to fight for us. You and I both know that's bullroar.

Gun Control Bracelets At Oscars
Celebrities like Patricia Arquette, Steve Carell, Bryan Cranston, and others, plan to make wear gun control bracelets at the 2016 Oscars while benefiting from massive increases in armed security at the event.
The bracelets are part of a gun control push sponsored by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.According to People magazine, the bracelets are “decorated in a simple black and gold design” and part of the Brady Campaign’s efforts to recruit celebs and other Hollywood “influencers” to join their push for gun control.
This bit of worthless news begs the question(s) Will there be armed protection for these folks? Are Hollywood types so special they have never gone to the bathroom and, when did Hollywood stop making movies with weaponry in them? It seems hypocritical to my but I'm not someone who reads scripts then repeats what others have written for them.

Love Or Like
Our dear friends from around the corner came to dinner last evening. Earlier in the day we attended the movie, The Race. It focuses on the life of Jesse Owens who won four gold medals at the 1936 Olympic Games.
Dinner with our friends consists of good laughter and serious conversation. Since they happen to be Southern Baptists and we Roman Catholics our tendency is to steer our talks away from religion. Baptists believe the be all end all is the Bible. Catholics put our faith in the sacrifice of the Mass and use of sacraments to gain eternal life.
I had a thought last week about life relationships. Those items of business are more than crucial to happiness. Anyway, last night, I posed the question: "Is it more important for you to be liked or loved"?
Would you prefer your children, after respect, liked or loved you. How about your spouse? Your friends and close acquaintances?
Evidently, I struck a chord because the first item of business for The Queen this morning upon awakening was to broach the subject. Usually she waits a month to comment on words I've spoken so I know it was high priority on her list.
Heck, when I started the entire hullabaloo I wasn't cognizant of an earth shattering piece of subject matter. I was only trying to make dinner talk.

The NFL, National Football League, has visions of expanding to Europe. God only knows why since their football is of a slightly different version than ours. It must have something to do with money.
Anyway, the Washington Redskins are scheduled to play an exhibition game in London next Fall. Britain's Labour Party issued a statement asking that the game be boycotted due to, and you know what's coming, until the 'Skins change their name and logo. It's the same old same old.
The next time a liberal buffoon starts in with their mantra of silliness drop this on them:
For the record, the team's logo is taken from the image that was on the "heads" side of what's called the "Buffalo" nickel. And THAT was minted to honor American Indians, and the American bison. If the logo is racist and offensive, then so is the coin. But you don't hear many people claiming the nickel is racist or offensive and all of them ought to be melted down.
If this doesn't work remind the hypocrites that during the British Occupation of India 7 million Bengali's were exterminated. Let me think. Wasn't there a saying, something about 'the sun never sets on the British flag'?
This proof won't make a whits it of difference but your superiority will be ingrained in your brain as if it needed to be. How difficult is it to have a conversation with a rock.

When Women Were Beautiful
We were in the Kansas City area two weeks ago. I took the opportunity, along with my long time friend, to visit his mother. She 89 years old and a pistol. She'll laugh at ribald stories and talk like nobody's business about current events, sports and whatever's on her mind. I love being with her because, even at her age, she's youthful.
We stated talking about current movies and movie stars. The conversation spread to contemporary movie stars; it was difficult coming up with those who would be considered classic beauties.
I looked at my buddy and said, "I wish there were beautiful women on the screen as we had in the 1940's". Evidently, he'd never considered it before and sort of scoffed. I wasn't finished since I immediately ran off a list that made my mouth water thinking about them: Heddy Lamar(invented the forerunner to today's 'Bluetooth' along with radar systems used in WWII) was one of them. What a babe!
Then there was Ingrid Bergman, Betty Grable with her 'Grable Gams', Rita Hayworth, Irene Dunne, Donna Reed. When most of us think of Bette Davis we think of an old troll as in the movie, 'Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. In the 40's Ms. Davis was stunningly gorgeous.
These were classic women who made our lives more fun by allowing us to escape the realities of WWII. As it is I am watching the movie, Mrs. Miniver, on Turner Classic Movies. It always shows what is called 31 days of the Oscars prior to the Academy Awards. It stars Greer Garson. She was elegant and oh so yummy.

In order to achieve a bit of fairness I felt it necessary to present an even balanced approach to the views of my readers so I thought it might be a good idea to present the 'Good and the Bad' about Mr. Trump based on his previous quotes.
These aren't off the top the top of my head but come from John Hawkins at Townhall so there's bound to have been some solid and verifiable research done for the sake of accuracy.
I've always been amazed at the political process in our elections. Why it takes over a year to select a candidate it is a sacrilege. The Brits get it done and over with quickly. There's not a shed of evidence to show that a three month process, from beginning to end, wouldn't accomplish the same. That's the reason I only watch Fox for one hour each day. Every hourly segment starts off the same---BREAKING NEWS!---then it's the same old bat scat for the rest of the day.

The definition could apply to followers of a nincompoop but not in all cases.
Examples of a nincompoop would be a presidential candidate who, when backed in a corner and has no constructive and informative answer, will call his accusers 'choke artists' and 'losers'. The fascinating aspect of all this is one of the candidates, let's say the nincompoop, is the only candidate losing to Hillary and Sanders at this time.
Followers of said nincompoop believe nonsensical statements made by their demagogic choice. For instance, if a candidate states "under my presidency there will be a wall built to keep immigrants from coming in and that country will pay for it". Were I running for political campaign with lemmings as supporters and said, "If I am elected the Chicago Cubs will go undefeated in 2016 and win every playoff and World Series game" it would have the same result.
My suggestion for these lemmings is to visit the website of their candidate. Nothing is written specifically but the messages come in the form of videos. In essence they say, if we vote for this person we are going to be "very, very happy; happier than we have ever been in our lives". He states this numerous times. I feel better already. How about you?

Lord knows we all know about the Kennedy's and Bubba Clinton. It's strange to me that when Nelson Rockefeller was vice-President under Gerald Ford he and his wife came under great scrutiny because both had previous spouses.
The difference between sexual escapades of years gone and those of today is those folks worked to keep them in the closet.
I am a social conservative. I've witnessed many changing events in my life that have destroyed the fabric of the country. In 1962, while attending a public high school, a minister would come to school of 800 students and deliver a message on life, religion and God on a monthly basis. I liked it for two reasons. One, it got me out of algebra class and, two, I could sit next to my girlfriend.
I've witnessed the usual litany of conservative complaints about society: homosexuality, drugs, bisexual marriage, abortion. You name it and I've seen it. Bobby Knight, the ex-NCAA basketball coach was asked question thirty years ago about the number one problem facing this country. He stated, "Our nation will be destroyed because of the increased usage of drugs". Smart man that Knight.
I still feel Donald Trump will not be the Republican nominee but I could be wrong. You may not realize this but I've been incorrect on a few subjects in my life.
I have a friend who lives in Georgia, a very smart and successful man. He's in the tank for Donald Trump. He has yet to explain why.
I know there's anger in America with the pols in DC. I'm angry, too. Politicians, and there are surveys on this subject, rank them as one of the very lowest in respect.
My pettiness about Trump is basic. He is Jerry Springer on steroids. He was married to Ivanka Trump and fathered her children. He then found someone better, Marla Maples. Ms. Maples became the love of his life through an adulterous affair. And they lived happily ever after, right? Not exactly.
Trump decided he need another adulterous affair, this time with Melania Knauss. Bill Clinton has nothing on this guy except it appears Bubba would snag a snake if he could hold it's head down.
The way I see it a person should be judged by the personal aspects of their life. There should be nothing more important than being honest with those closest to you; the ones who are supposedly the loves of your life and who provided you your children; God's greatest gift.
I do not trust Donald Trump to build a wall. It can't be done. I don't trust Donald Trump to deport 12 million illegals. That, too, is an impossibility. Donald Trump is bluster and the people are buying into it---so far.

The Chancellor of Whitewater, Beverly Kopper (why are women the troublemakers) was informed that two of her cherubs on campus had posted a picture on the social media showing them in blackface when they had actually covered their faces in 'glop'. Kopper went on to brand the kids as campus racists.
This would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad. The State Representative of Wisconsin for this district has chimed in calling Kopper a moronic idiot--or words to that effect.

You Know You're Getting Old When----
A friend bought me a years subscription for Sports Illustrated as a Christmas gift. I think he felt it was an obligation. We'd communicated via the email for a couple of years. I met the man for the first time in person last summer. I bought him lunch and brew and he reciprocated with the magazine.
I enjoy SI but don't peruse the pages voraciously as I did in younger days. Last week I received the Swimsuit Issue. The cover page announced the 'girls' were body painted. IN my younger days, learning of this, I would have given it the 'Ooh-la-la' whistle.
Here's where it got scary. I looked at the cover, didn't see much of interest, then threw it in the recycle can.
I didn't have one regret and, until now, haven't given my action a thought. One aspect of losing all one's testosterone is, when it goes everything goes.

Most people think the greatest result of the atom bomb was to end World War II. It wasn't.
There was, in the 1950's, an entire industry spawned because of the work of Enrico Fermi and Robert Oppenheimer.
This massive weapon created Hollywood movies we will never see again. They offered employment to actors and actresses who were ten steps in talent below Bogart and Gable, Elizabeth Taylor and Donna Reed.
Have you heard the names of Tim Holt and Audrey Dalton? Of course not. That's because they went on to become anonymous in Hollywood.
The 1950's were a magical time for a young kid like me. Every Saturday I could count on the Rialto or Princess theaters in downtown Boone, Iowa running a movie with a title like, 'The Monster That Challenged The World'.
They all had the same premise. A test bomb would be detonated in the ocean. Radioactive material would engulf a sea creature, any would do, but in the case of this movie it was a humongous caterpillar which grew to gigantic proportions. The mega-caterpillar with foot long fangs would wreak havoc on the populace. You eventually know he's going to seek out the girlfriend, somehow, and scare the peewadun out of her.
Of course, there is the love interest. It's always our hero who falls in love with the daughter of a scientist. This poor guy, the scientist, is killed so the couple automatically has a love bond.
Our hero then invents a method to take out the caterpillar. Oh yeah, when the big confrontation usually take place in these films massive numbers of our armed forces are eaten by the monster before they, themselves, are eradicated. In my movie the hero saves his GFF by grabbing a fire extinguisher and covering it with foam. The army guys then arrive on the scene and blast it with ten thousand bullets. As they would say in German: "Es is Tot". (It is dead)
In B movies with aliens the army guys are vaporized with a bolt from a ray gun. It's comical, really, and always expected. The neat thing was you knew the guys were going to get zapped before it happened.
Do you remember the original 'War of the Worlds'? The dad in this case was a minister. When the bloody aliens show themselves he slowly walks toward them holding a bible. ZAP! His daughter screams in horror. Then, in the next scene, she's holding her boyfriend giving him a loving passionate kisses. So much for minister dads. Here today-zapped tomorrow
I've witnessed thousands of these miracle methods of destroying monsters. The most popular seems to be a machine that sends killer secret sonic waves through the air to take out the creature causing it to blow up. Wasn't that the way it was in the film, Independence Day? You'd think after all these years Hollywood would come up with something more original.
End of story? Not quite. As the lovers are on the beach, hugging and smooching, the girl will say, "Thank God, we're saved" Then, the camera shoots under the sea and we see thousands of pods of snails ready to strike again. In today's vernacular it sounds like the film makers were looking for a sequel.
I think the moral of the story in these films is we never should have bombed the Japs in the first place. I guess Hollywood is telling us we're receiving our just desserts.
The best aspect of those movies was they were mindless. I missed them for many years. Not any more, though. There's a television channel on Time-Warner showing them non-stop. It's called Comet TV. Give it a look if you want to recall the good old days.

The pantsuit queen was on CBS two nights ago, being interviewed by liberal, Scott Pelly. He asked the magic question, "Have you ever lied". Naturally, Hillary, with her patented Bill Clinton statement, "I did not have sex, etc." skirted the issue.
"I don't believe I have ever lied" statement doesn't quite cut it as illustrated by the words of her first boss while she served on the Watergate Commission.
As a 27 year old staff attorney for the House Judiciary Committee during the Watergate investigation, Hillary Rodham was fired by her supervisor, lifelong Democrat Jerry Zeifman. When asked why Hillary Rodham was fired, Zeifman said in an interview, “Because she was a liar. She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer, she conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the Committee, and the rules of confidentiality.”

Army Expected To Discharge Soldier For Saving Afghan Boys Life
The 2011 incident occurred at the remote outpost where Martland was stationed. The 12-year-old boy and his mother showed up at camp, and the boy showed the Green Berets where his hands had been tied. A medic took him to a back room for an examination with an interpreter, who told them the boy had been raped by a man identiffied as Afghani Police commander Abdul Rahman.
Rahman allegedly beat the boy's mother for reporting the crime after learning that they went to the Army outpost. This led Martland and team leader Daniel Quinn to confront Rahman.
According to reports of the incident, Rahman confessed to the crime and laughed it off. This led Martland and Quinn to shove the smug police official to the ground.

According to Kurdish media reports, the jihadist group that has captured wide swaths of Syria and Iraq beheaded a 15-year-old boy in Mosul for the crime of listening to Western pop music.
Reports cite officials in the northern Iraqi city as saying that the boy, Ayham Hussein, was discovered by ISIS henchman as he was listening to a portable compact disc player.
Hussein was detained by ISIS operatives as he sat inside a shop owned by his father in an open-air market in western Mosul.
The boy was beaten and tried in a local sharia court, which sentenced him to be executed.
“The boy was executed by beheading in a town square in the center of the city,” a source told Kurdish media.

Ed Schultz is a former obnoxious liberal talk show host with MSNBC. He was let go because of his low ratings. How bad is that? That pitiful network has a viewer rating of 6%, one above the Comedy Network.
I've sent a few emails in my life to pundits. Most are of the complimentary variety. Every so often I'll receive a response. Eddie has received two of my missives. The first dealt with how he dumped on his first wife to marry a trophy. The second concerned his firing from MSNBC. He responded back to me with these words, "F you". I like this because I got his goat and, hopefully, made his day more miserable than when he got out of bed.
Last November Fat Eddie started a Super PAC to 'Raise Awareness For The Middle Class'. He wanted to raise money to support candidates who shared his views. Yesterday, it was quietly announced the PAC was shut down. It cost Eddie $10,000 in legal fees to start the site plus another 3K in start up fees.
Since that time the PAC received a grand total of, are you ready for this, twenty-five dollars in donations! "Ed, you are what is termed a loser".
Isn't this the most juicy news item you've heard which only goes to prove---there is a God.

Obama Opts Out Of Scalia Funeral Mass
King Barry I is sending Joe Biden to Justice Scalia's funeral and Mass. I've been reading comments on how disgraceful and disrespectful it is of the President. There have been a number of snarky words made about how Obama had an assigned conflicting tee time. Those kind of statements are childish.
I know the reason for Obama's failure to attend the ceremony. You won't hear it from anyone else but I'm not exactly what one would call politically correct.

Why Trump Still Can't Win
I was in Olathe, Kansas last week staying in the home of my almost life long friend. In the course of conversation the name of Trump came up. We're both of the same political bent, anyone but Hillary(Sanders doesn't count-even today we wouldn't elect a hardcore communist).
A much as I detest Trump for being an obnoxious demagogue I'd still pull the lever for him against the pantsuit queen but our conversation went further than that.
I penned a blog sometime ago on why Trump can't win the presidency nor the nomination. My buddy scoffed at me about my Trump assumption and we proceeded to make a bet on the outcome. I set the wager at a hundred dollars. Evidently, I've invested more wisely than he. He wanted a sawbuck on the bet. I agreed.
I don't care about the money. It's the pride involved in my winning and putting one over on him.
Let's take for example the upcoming South Carolina primary. Consider Trump has made some extremely irresponsible comments, "Cruz is a liar", "Saddam Hussein fought terrorism" yet he's still in the lead. If Trump wins 35% of the vote, Cruz receives 19% and Cruz 16% the race is essentially a tie. As more Republicans drop out there is no way in hell any of the other candidates will throw their support to Trump nor will their supporters. If you can come up with one tell me who and why.
The ideal situation would be for the Republicans to get down to one or two candidates----and then one by June. By then Trump has two choices: (1) call himself the Big L word(loser) or (2) start a 3rd party candidacy(I would not be surprised in the least).

Never, Ever Forget To Buy Your Wife A Valentine Gift

What You Should Know About Benghazi

Let's Blame The Bush's
The Left has made the Bush family punching bags for unnecessary America deaths in wars in which we had no business. Remember the refrain, 'War for oil'? Truth be told, war for oil is pretty darned important. If you read your history, not revisionist history but the real one, you'll understand why Japan declared war on the world. But, that's another story to be discussed on another occasion. If you still don't believe oil can be the catalyst for war consider the dilemma Russia faces. With oil prices hovering around $30 a barrel their economy is nearing complete disaster.
The entire Russian economy is based on oil and in order for it to flourish the price of a barrel has to be at $90. That, my friends, is a recipe for World War III and the piker has until this June for prices to rise.
War has always fascinated me. I'm not a big fan. I would think the best way not to have wars would be to have members of our Congress, Senate and House, take up arms against the Russian Politburo.
It'd be the shortest war in the history of mankind. Can you imagine Harry Reid leading the charge on the beaches of Normandy?
It appears liberals have lost site of the fact there were wars fought before the unjust Iraqi ones. You know what they were, right? They were unjust because the United States wasn't attacked. According to them we were flexing our imperialistic muscle. If that's the case consider the those wars in which Democrats were instrumental.
World War I was Woodrow Wilson's war. Do know why we got involved? It was to save the world for democracy. Fifty-three thousand Americans died(my wife's uncle being one of them) yet we, the United States, wasn't attacked.
In World War II the US was attacked by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor. Yet, the Dem president, Franklin Roosevelt was itching for a fight. We had subs in the Atlantic searching out Nazi subs and radioing information to the Brits prior to 1941. FDR wanted a war with Germany but had to backdoor it with Japan.
From 1950-53 the US was in a war in Korea during Harry Truman's administration. Truman followed FDR and he was a Democrat. The US wasn't attacked but we sent 46,000 troops to their deaths.
Our next big conflict, Viet Nam, can be assigned to two Democrats, John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson. Sixty thousand boys died in far off Asia, yet, the United States was not attacked.
So, it appears to me the real war mongers, the ones who have caused more modern day war deaths than we can imagine were brought on by the Democrat Party.
Yes, George Bush I can take the blame for 141 combat deaths and George Bush II has 4,000 under his belt but when it comes to the most irresponsible deaths blame it on the Dems.

Lent: The Good And The Bad Of It All
Is it a sin to use religion and religious practices for the wrong reason? I hope not because if it is I'm going to Hell.
Lent began last week. It's that time of year when Christians prepare for Christ's crucifixion and rising from the dead. It is, for we practicing folks, the most important time of the year.
A lot of Christians think Christmas is the be all end all in the Church. First, to illustrate, we don't shower our children with toys. Maybe that's why so many Catholics drop out of the church. Kids look forward to Legos at Christmas but at Easter all they get is a crummy chocolate bunny. See what I mean.
Anyway, I've decided to 'give up' things for Lent but I have a selfish motive. My wife, The Queen, has given up her nightly glass of wine. That's huge for her. Wine and the nightly news are staples in her life. I'd much rather she had given up the Nightly News because she watches NBC.
I decided, selfishly, to give up sugar. Sugar is monstrous in my life. Along with that I will not eat any flour products. Do you now see where this is going"
Two years ago in March I finally recognized I was getting hefty. In other words, I was an a certifiable lard ass. Therefore, I gave up those two items I've promised myself I'd do away with this Lent. From March 1 of '14 until the end of May I dropped 30 lbs. and it all slid off of me from the waist to the neck.
So, here's my problem and it all has to do with my Catholic conscience(darned BVM nuns from grade school). Am I doing this sacrificial penance for God or for my own self-aggrandizement? I'm sure He knows. I do hope it doesn't bother Him at all.
The way I figure is if I do lose the weight I'll be healthier. If I'm healthy I'll live longer. If I live longer I'll be able to put more money in the church coffers.

What Ever Happened To Sandy Burger
From the title of the post I won't keep you in suspense. He's dead as of Dec. 2015. Burger was a lawyer and National Security Advisor in the Clinton Administration. In other words, he was a Clinton flunky.
Burger will be most remembered, not for his expertise serving the Clinton's, but for his bungling attempt to protect them.
"Berger was a close adviser to President Bill Clinton but he’s best known as someone who stole classified documents by stuffing them down his pants and walking out of the archives with them.
However, his legacy was tarnished in 2005, when he pleaded guilty to illegally removing classified documents from the National Archives by stuffing some highly classified documents into his socks and beneath the waistband of his pants.
He was sentenced to probation and a $50,000 fine and expressed regret for his actions(He regretted he got caught).
The documents Berger stole dealt with the events surrounding Al Qaeda attacks on America during Clinton's presidency". You remember those. There were scads of them and Bubba promised he would not rest until the murderers were brought to justice. Clinton was even offered bin Laden but he nixed the idea.
This begs the question akin to Nixon's Watergate questioning about Burger and his shenanigans: "What did he(Clinton) know and when did he know it?"
Ye gods these Clinton's are despicable. If you've a few hours google the number of Clinton close cronies who are now dead. I'm not saying Burger was forced to swallow a gun. He actually died of cancer(or so we're told).
It seems to me if you associate with America's number 1 scum bags, and especially Bill,(see Jeffrey Epstein) eventually only bad things can happen. If you don't believe me ask Sandy Burger's wife.
