Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Connecticut Democrat and judiciary committee member, said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Monday he’d be prepared to filibuster Judge Gorsuch’s nomination if he concludes the judge is outside the mainstream.
Hmmm! I've always wonder about this 'out of the mainstream' thingy. The only times Blumenthal and it's a presumption on my part is it refers to abortion. We can add lax immigration policies, not providing condoms and Kotex pads to any and all, free cell phones, ipods and ipads but only to black and brown people. Those from West Virginia, Kentucky and everyone else south of the Mason-Dixon Line are on the their.
Doesn't seem ridiculous that the people selecting our esteemed members of the Supreme Court have a constitutional understanding of the law akin to my grandson Oscar who, by the way, is a sixth grader in a Catholic school so he's already way ahead of the game. Al Franken, for instance, is the most qualified Democrat to be a senator and decide on the ability of Gorsuch to serve. He's a bona fide comedian.
Yes, Blumenthal did attend Yale Law School in the same class as Bill and Hillary Clinton so this immediately disqualifies him from respectability.
Don't we all want to trust our elected leaders to do right by us? Isn't that how Teddy Kennedy was elected so many times? That and controlling the Massachusetts Machine along with offshore liquor distribution.
Blumenthal's main claim to being an American icon is when he spoke before a group of Viet Nam Veteran's and told them "We are all brothers in arms because I, too, served in Viet Nam".
Evidently, Blumenthal(He goes by the name of 'Dick", how appropo) didn't realize there's such a thing as Nexis because he didn't come close to that theater of combat.
Care to guess how all politicians escape the lies? It's easy. They send a stooge out to reporters and tell them the Senator 'misspoke'.
And that's how politicians survive.
