The Obama kids attended a State Dinner. Both wore new gowns-----valued at over $17,000 each. I remember the time my daughter went to her first prom. It was in 1987. She wanted to go so badly. As I recall the boy who asked her, now a doctor at the University of Iowa medical hospitals, and was Mr. 'Wonderful' at her school requested her to be his date.
I was so excited for her opportunity I mortgaged our home so she could be adorned in the manner she deserved. Or maybe, we went down to J.C. Penney and bought her a formal off the rack.
