Mom Sends Son Bill For Being An A-Hole

What is it about Bernie Sanders that he's gained such support from young people, the ones who expect cash breaks, free education, free health care, free ice cream cones---free everything?

There's a story out of Toronto, Ontario regarding a mother who had had it with her live-in 23 year-old son, his girlfriend and the fact that they feel the need to live in her house.

The mom had finally had enough and sent him a bill for being a jerk aka an a** hole. Interestingly, the kid admits to his pattern of behavior.

Today, someone, I don't who, made a statement about 'The Bern' supporters and it just might have credence.

As a former high school teacher I can relate to what one of my best students and athlete's, David O'Keefe, told me sometime in the mid-80's. He said, "If a kid gets an A in a class he'll tell you he earned it. If a kid receives and F he'll tell you the teacher gave it to him.". In other words, it's not their fault for their failures.

My 11 year old grandson has played organized soccer for six years. On his bedroom shelves you'll find five trophy's. "Wow", you might say, "his teams have been butt kickers"! Nope. Each and every one of those awards is a participation trophy. How pathetic is that?

A month ago I was looking through a box of memorabilia. I came across a photo of myself taken in 1958. I was wearing my Knights of Columbus Giants Little League uniform. Above my held I held the LL Championship trophy. We were the winners of that summer's play. There was a huge smile across my face. Need I explain more?

In March of 1963 our high school basketball team lost a first round game in the Iowa boys high school state basketball finals. We lost by one point. It was devastating. I cried after the game and I cried the next day. From the time I picked up a basketball, probably around age 4, my dream had to be in the state tournament and win the entire enchilada. I was devastated by our one point loss. The feeling was one of agony but I learned from it; most likely the loss helped me more in life than did my victories.

Personally, I can't blame young folks for their love of Bernie and socialism. It's government policy along with teachers and parents who have made Bernie Sanders so popular. It's too easy to say 'yes' than it is to give a tough love 'no'.

I have to wonder, if Bernie's parents were alive today would they sit down and send him a bill for being such an a**hole. If so, maybe he wouldn't have become a hardcore communist.
