The title of this blog is really sort of silly. Of course people would vote Democrat. My dad, a semi-knowledgeable railroad worker voted Democrat because his dad, who was born in 1888 voted Democrat. My dad's philosophy, which he got from his dad was this, The Republicans never did anything for the working man. Brother, is that theory in the toilet.
John f. Kennedy would not make it in the Democrat Party. His brother, Teddy Kennedy did make it in the party because abortion is a goody for him.
In the election of 2014 the Democrat Party ran on the issues of toilets for men and women. It ran the gamut of other subjects but toilets sort of them a whole lot of House seats. Their philosophy now is to be able to kill babies. They want to be on a par with North Korea. A few years ago Andy Cuomo stated in a speech pro-life people aren't welcome in New York. Godless talk but it worked.
Today, January 31, 2019 Democrats have made a stand. The main issue of their platform in the next election is abortion. It goes further. They want infanticide. They want to be on a par with China and their one child policy. They want to be on a par with North Korea and their abortion policies.

The Big Deep Freeze Of 2019
Lord knows I don't feel worse than anyone about the severe cold when it comes to the police, fireman and those who save our lives than I do about the cold weather.
Aside from this let's get real. It's winter. It's cold. We've had temperatures across the nation that are below zero. Our Minnesota lake area where our cabin is located has seen minus 40. Two years ago they had the same for two weeks. It's expected. One of my former co-workers and his wife spent the last couple days snowmobiling in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I called him on the telephone and he said, "it was fun". Oh, and by the way, he grew up in Iowa.
I always joke with Ohioans comparing Iowa with the temperatures. My retort is back in Iowa we call this weather t-shirt weather.
Here's what I do to combat the temps. I stay in the house. I don't go out. I don't go to Kroger's prior to a storm warning to get bread and milk. The food we have in the house will suffice.
What do I do to combat the frigid weather? In the morning I get up, make myself some of my very favorite Costa Rico coffee. Then I'll turn on television and watch Law and Order reruns all day and night long then go to bed.
Here's the trick to very cold weather and it works. Don't leave your house.
By the way, God bless the guys who protect the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Modern Medicine is Kind Of Neat
Did you read the stories floating around about how Israeli scientists have said they will have a cure for cancer within a year. If true this is incredible. It's be just my luck that I'd be the last person in the history of mankind who died of the disease but that's the way it goes.
I was thinking that if this is true and the Israeli's wanted to be vindictive they could withhold it from all the countries who are trying to kill them. Of course, they could try and find common ground with Muslims and offer the drug as a peace token to bring them to the peace table. Year right!
Anyway, eight years ago I had a hip replacement. I recall the time right before I was put under an anesthetic I told that doctor. "Hey Doc, you're now the most important person in my life so don't F it up". My surgeon is a world renowned expert in his field so he doesn't concern me with his skill set.
Sometime next Wednesday I'll go under the knife and being the jerk that I am I'll tell this anesthetist the same. I'll have a hand rosary in my hands. A guy doesn't want to take any chances.
I'm excited about this operation. I want to find out what improvements have been made in the procedure in the past eight years.
It would really be special for me if I had a couple of hot nurses.

"Praise the saints and gimme another beer". Gov. DeSantis of Florida has signed a law eliminating Common Core in schools. I'm 95% certain most people don't know or don't care about CC. Let me try and explain in the most basic of terms.
CC eliminated phonics in school. Common Core got rid of penmanship. Common Core decided that revisionist history is good. In other words, history is what a kid or teacher wants it to be regardless of the facts. Common Core math goes like this: 2 + 2 ='s whatever the kid wants it to be.
I'm a former high school educator which means I'm still an educator because it's impossible to once be a doctor but when one retires they're still a doctor.
What Common Core does not demand is excellence in education. Good riddance I say.

I very much want a progressive to win the next presidency. Why not. I'm 73 years old and what do I care. I'll be dead within the next 15 years.
Why, do you ask I feel this way? Easy answer. The democrats in the next presidential race are calling for free health care. Who doesn't want that? Kamala Harris, the leading candidate at this time for the highest office in the land is calling for this. She also wants free college education for all. In addition, Ms. Harris is demanding free medical care for all. Wow! This is good.
Ladies and gentleman, the only problem is her desires is the cost is would be $42 trillion dollars. It's no big deal since our national debt at this time is a palty $21 trillion dollar.

Think About Nick Sandmann For A Minute
Think back when Brett Kavanaugh was blasted by the Leftists of all stripes and colors. Do you know there are thousands of pick knit capped babes who still believe Christine Blasey Ford and her false testimony. They believe her so much that the Alyssa Milano types of the world are still putting hard earned cash into a #GoFundMe scam for Ford. At last count it was up to $800,000 and I'm almost certain it has jumped over the million count. The scam was originally started to cover legal costs? Fat chance of that since her legal beagles were donating their services.
The other day I was, once again, thinking about Nick Sandmann, the Covington Catholic kid who was harassed by people around the world.
He's a 16 year-old lad, a couple years out of puberty, and he's been depicted as nothing less than the worst criminal in modern times. I've been trying to imagine how I would have reacted at his age. Knowing me at that age I might have wet my pants. Do you know that a female writer for Saturday Night Live tweeted out she would perform fellatio(that's not how she stated it) if anyone would smack the kid(Sandmann) in the mouth. It's despicable.
Anyway, after next year Nick will be graduating high school and, most likely, going onto college. Folks, what happened in D.C. is going to follow him for the rest of his life the way Steve Bartmann's blunder with the Chicago Cubs did.
College entrance people, when they see his name, are going to pause. He will be rejected by schools across the land. Future employers will remember his name. If I were the kid I'd have my name changed pronto.
To date I have not heard one word about a #GoFundMe for Nicholas and he should have one. The mental strain this kid has gone through is, for me, not fathomable.
I sat down yesterday and wrote Nick a letter. I also included a check. I know it will go to good use. If you can afford to send this lad any amount along with some words of encouragement I know it would be greatly appreciated.

The Dollar Tree Store Clerk Got It Right
A man in Boone, Iowa, my hometown, passed away this week. He was 88 years old and a pillar of the community. It was important to me to send a condolence card to his family. So, off to the Dollar Store I went. I've mentioned before how I'm amazed that people will go to Kroger Food and spend five dollars for a card when the Dollar stores sell them for a buck.
I picked out a card, read the inside to make sure the message was appropriate then for some reason looked at the back of the card. It was made by Hallmark and the price was listed at $3.95. Hmmm. When I went to check out when the clerk told me it was $1.07 with tax. I asked her why this same Hallmark card at Kroger could job the customer so much? Her answer was perfect. She said, "Because they can."
You know me. I began applying this same thinking to our government. Why are taxes so high? Why are there so many government restrictions on the people? Why do we stand for this? Why do the elected officials pass legislation to benefit themselves without regard to who they hurt? It's the same answer. Because they can.

A three-year-old boy who went missing in a North Carolina forest for two days said he “hung out with a bear” to keep company while his family and hundreds of others searched for him.
The boy’s aunt, Breanna Hathaway, revealed in a Thursday evening Facebook post that the boy, Casey, told authorities and his parents while recovering in the hospital that he spent time with a bear over the two days he went missing.
“Casey is healthy, smiling, and talking. He said he hung out with a bear for two days God sent him a friend to keep him safe,” Hathaway said.

I had lunch today with a priest friend of mine today. He's a priests priest; makes Big Crosby in The Bells Of St. Mary's look like a first year seminarian.
Anyway, the subject of the Covington boys came up. He's as livid with anger as I, maybe moreso.
During the course of conversation I brought up the latest mantra that the boys should not have worn the infamous MAGA caps because they trigger all types of anxiety and feelings White Supremacy from the Left. Seriously, if you personally are bothered by a cap there are many psychologists and psychiatrists to rectify your problem. But I digress.
I, too, am triggered by things I see and hear. I get triggered when I see Obama and Hillary caps. Fifteen or so years ago at an AA meeting there was a young man sitting next to me wearing a military style green cap with a red star in the middle. Incredulously, I asked, "why are you wearing this?" "Because", he said, "communism is the best form of government".
I get triggered when I go shopping, the Tuttle Mall in Columbus is good good example, when people wear their native garb from an Asian country and don't have the common courtesy to speak English. When I go to any foreign country I take the time to learn a few words or phrases in their native language. The people appreciate the efforts I made.
I get triggered, as I did today on the way to see my priest friend, when I'm driving down the I-270 outerbelt a car ahead of me is driving 45 mph. Then when I pass said vehicle the women is on the iphone texting and/or talking.
I get triggered when I read on a daily basis the press given Hollywood D celebrities; Alyssa Milano, Cher, Ron Perleman. Robert Di Niro triggers me because he didn't even graduate from high school yet he knows more than Einstein according to him Unlike Einstein he can't utter a sentence with six or seven expletives thrown in.
Folks, it's okay to get triggered. It helps me keep my sanity. There is a huge difference from those on the Right who are triggered versus those on the Left. I don't act on those things that trigger me. I don't hit people. I don't doxx them or do what the latest form of humiliation requires. In many cases I'll say a silent prayer to calm myself down or when I'm not getting that feeling I'll tell myself, "Brother, are these people stupid or what?"

Why do supermarkets make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front?

A female reporter went to the bastion of Jesuit liberalism, Georgetown University and asked 19 students if toxic masculinity was a problem in this country and all applied in the affirmative.
On the next go round of questions the questioner asked the kids to define toxic masculinity. As one might expect they were clueless. The most common refrain was (giggle inserted) 'I don't know'.
The great part of this story is their parents are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to have their kids matriculate with no skills which will not get them jobs. Money well spent, mom and dad.

The State of Iowa recently passed a fetal heart beat abortion bill initiated by the Republicans, the party in power as elected by THE PEOPLE. The Governor, a Republican signed the bill into law. The law as written says when a fetal heart beat is detected there will not be an abortion. Done, right. No! I've always stated the people have no say in laws and I've been vindicated. One activist Judge overturned the law, calling a timeout to have the bill looked at again. Why do people vote anyway. Their vote is meaningless?
Of course Planned Parenthood was overjoyed. A spokesperson for PP was front and center calling the ruling a 'victory for the people'. Obviously, it's not much of a victory for the baby.
Furthermore, the spokesperson, and I love this because she parroted Bill Clinton, said all we want are abortions that are 'safe, legal and rare'. Hah! Are 50 million murders of babies since the inception of Roe v. Wade 'safe, legal and (emphasis on) rare? In May of last year, the Catholic diocese ruled just hours before Holy Cross High School’s graduation that the openly gay valedictorian [Christian Bales] and the student council president could not give their planned speeches at the Covington school’s official graduation ceremony.“I was not surprised at all,” Bales plainly told NBC News when asked for his reaction to last week’s D.C. confrontation. “It was only a matter of time that something this school community did would blow up to this degree, and I think they need to be held accountable.”

According to USA Today’s original story, which ran in May, the openly gay Bales attended a Catholic school in “Covington,” and did so while wearing “makeup and bobby pins” — which sounds pretty tolerant to me. He went on to graduate as valedictorian but was not allowed to give a class speech for two reasons that had nothing to do with his homosexuality: 1) he turned the speech in late and 2) the speech was political.
Using a megaphone, Bales ended up giving his speech outside after the graduation ceremony without incident.NBC later admitted the truth but never changed their story.

Who Or What Are Black Hebrews
One group in D.C. that has sneaked under the radar in the Kentucky school/Nathan Phillips problem are a group of four Black Hebrews. Maybe, because they are Black they get a pass. Not with me and it shouldn't be with you, either.
So, I did enough research to get by and came up with this: Some of the Black Hebrew groups are so extreme they’ve been classified as hate groups because of their violent, racist, misogynistic, and anti-Semitic rhetoric. (An example can be found in this video, which contains extremely racist language and profanity.) In addition, any White person is evil.
There you go. Why not invite a couple of them over for dinner and try and make them nice.
