If you don't recognize the pictures the city of Venice is underwater. Those in the know say it's due to, yes, climate change.
I happened to be in Venice in June of 1968 and spent as little time as possible in the area of the picture in the upper left. It's called the San Marco Piazza. I hated it. Pigeons kept crapping on my head. Floods aren't all that bad. At least the birds are gone.
