You may not know this or like most Americans don't much care. Maria Yuvanovitch was appointed by Barack Obama to be the Ambassador to the Ukraine.
Ambassadors serve at the pleasure of the President. May of the ambassadorships are gifts to folks for giving a great deal of cash to a guy's campaign.
In 2009 when Obama took office he let go fired, every ambassador appointed by George W. Bush. I don't remember too many of these people crying and whining about it.
