The Reasoning Behind The Coronavirus Stimulus Money

I received this from the Council Bluffs Cowboy. He's a font of information.

A tourist visiting the area drives thru town and stops at a motel, laying $100 bill on the counter and saying he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs and pick one for the night.

As soon as he walks upstairs, the motel owner grabs the $100 and runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher. The butcher then takes the $100 and runs down the street to retire his debt to the pig farmer. The pig farmer takes the $100 and heads off to pay his bill at his supplier, the Co-op. The guy at the Co-op takes the $100 and goes to pay his debt to the prostitute, who also has fallen on hard times and having to offer her services on credit. The hooker rushes to the motel with the $100 to pay her debt for her room. The hotel proprietor lays the $100 back on the counter so the tourist suspects nothing.

At this moment the traveler comes down the stairs and states the rooms are unsatisfactory, picks up the $100 and leaves.

No one produced anything, no one earned anything. The whole town is now out of debt and looks to the future with a lot more optimism. In a nutshell, this ladies and gentlemen, is how a stimulus package works!
