Where Are We And How Did We Get There

It all started innocently enough. Lizzie left early yesterday morning for Springfield, Ohio to baby sit our one year old grandson. Our youngest lad, his wife and two kids were driving to Toledo for a wedding. His in-laws were going, too.
Lucky me. I had a long day of football ahead of me, all by my lonesome.
Around 9PM my daughter in San Antonio called in a panic. "Where's Mom? I've been trying to get ahold of her all day". I had to let her know she was in Springfield. Now is when it gets interesting. "Well", daughter said, "I just spoke with my brother and he's not at a wedding in Toledo. He has the other two kids and they're at Disneyworld in Orlando". "Hmmm--you don't say". Our kids can't figure out how we stay married. The normal response is, "Don't you ever talk to each other"? I put in a quick call to Lizzie but there was no answer. That seemed strange since she's babysitting at night and was by herself. "Oh well, maybe she's going to the bathroom. I'll call in the morning". I left a message for her to call me. Then I tried to contact my son---no answer. I left a message to have him return a call to me. "Gee, I'd better hurray and make the English muffin with orange marmalade in case he calls", I thought. The Big A did call later and said, "yes" they were in Disneyland.
He said his in-laws were at the wedding in Toledo. I saw that Lizzie was on the line so I hung up and answered her call. "Oh, I didn't know the kids were going to Florida until I arrived at their house and then forgot to call you", she said. "No problem", I responded, "but you'd better call your daughter in San Antonio so she knows we're still married and you didn't run out on me or was murdered".
Well, it's a new day, Sunday, and I called Lizzie to see how her day was going and asked her what time the in-laws would be home from the Toledo wedding to spell her.
"Oh, they're not in Toledo. The ceremony was in Nashville".
Forty-three years of marriage and we're still speaking to each other and still in love. Ain't communication great?
